- Botswana Wild Parks
This trip was awesome ..the experiences were wonderful but, I cannot express how much this was also due to Brian and Jo Jo, who with their eagle eyes, amazing knowledge, brilliant cooking and desire to go above and beyond what was expected, ensured we had the best experience. I am looking forward to coming back and doing another trip. Well done Sunway you have 2 amazing and absolute gentlemen working for you.

My wife and I hadn't "camped" since we were married some 35 years ago but we more than survived the 5 days on Safari. We loved the whole experience. For those thinking reluctantly about camping in a Game Park what you get far exceeds the little "perceived" discomfort of camping. If you stay in a Lodge adjoining a park - you will have to lose Game viewing time travelling in and out of the park to have that comfort,, The tour we were on is not Glamping, You sleep in two man tents, on cots with warm bedding and a cover on the floor of the tent. You are provided a rechargeable light with your tent, There is an open air "ensuite" at the rear accessed through a zip. It is like a closed courtyard with a canvas floor. The Camp Toilet is surprising okay and you have to co-ordinate a daily shower. My wife and I are not experienced campers and we managed the timing of all this. There will be an open camp fire and a communal eating area, The food was all cooked over an open fire and was great. KD our Chef really had to be congratulated for the food, The funny thing is the first night we were all in a Lodge after 5 days camping - we all said we probably slept better in our camp cot? There is NO TV - NO Internet. Everyone had wonderful days and arrived back in camp excited and tired having seen wonderful animal sightings all day. We had dinner, went to our tents and prepared for the next early morning game drive, From two very inexperienced Campers please do not let any thoughts of "Camping" hold you back. We had Hyena and Lions in our camp overnight - there was no danger - just stay in your tent at night, A herd of Elephants went by one night and given their size they are surprisingly quiet, The sights our Guide Chief showed us will be with us forever. Honestly our experiences in Africa have been wonderful. We saw 33 mammal varieties, endless birds, 33 Lions. 5 Leopards, hundreds of elephants, buffalo and hippos, many zebras and giraffes, multiple antelopes varieties in endless quantities, We saw a Leopards and Lions with Kills and saw a Leopard hunting, Our first day left us in awe and our second and third days were even better.

When is the best time to visit Moremi Game Reserve for wildlife viewing?
The dry season from June to October presents the best wildlife viewing opportunities in Moremi Game Reserve. Animals gather around water sources like the Khwai River and Xakanaxa area during these months. The thinner vegetation makes spotting wildlife easier. Properties like Sitatunga Camp and Little Machaba Camp serve as excellent bases for game viewing. As quoted by a TourRadar traveler: "Game viewing in Chobe elephant trumpeting in Moremi interaction with other guests and guide was outstanding."
What types of accommodation are available in Moremi Game Reserve National Park?
The reserve provides a range of places to stay from upscale lodges to well-appointed tented camps. Boteti Lodge on the Boteti River and Camp Okavango in the delta showcase the variety available. Guests can expect private decks en-suite bathrooms and views across the wilderness. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The Boteti Lodge was amazing with very nice and friendly staff at the tented camp. Beautiful place to stay and food arrangements were very good."
How do I get to Moremi Game Reserve National Park?
Most visitors reach Moremi through Maun either by small aircraft to local airstrips or by 4x4 vehicle transfers. The drive takes 4-5 hours but timing varies based on wildlife encounters and road quality. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The journey from Maun to Moremi was an adventure itself with our guide pointing out wildlife along the way."
What activities are available during a Moremi Game Reserve National Park tour?
The reserve offers morning and afternoon game drives guided walks and mokoro (traditional dugout canoe) trips through the waterways. Both land and water activities are possible thanks to the varied terrain especially in the Khwai and Xakanaxa regions. Bird watching photography and sunset drives round out the options. As noted by a TourRadar traveler: "Great Safari experience with excellent game drives and the mokoro trips were particularly special."
How long should I spend in Moremi Game Reserve National Park?
Plan for at least 2-3 nights in Moremi though many visitors combine their stay with trips to the Okavango Delta and Chobe National Park. The most rewarding visits typically last 3-4 days exploring different areas like the Khwai region and Xakanaxa area. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "Only regrets was that we wish we had a few extra days. Great experience will do it again."
What makes Moremi Game Reserve unique compared to other African parks?
The reserve stands out as the first wildlife sanctuary created by an African tribe (the Batawana). It uniquely blends the permanent waterways of the Okavango Delta with varied dry land areas. A TourRadar traveler commented: "The contrast between wetlands and savannah in Moremi created amazing diversity in both landscapes and wildlife viewing opportunities."
