Itinerary
- Day 1
Ushuaia
You'll check in at the downtown Ushuaia departure point anytime between 10 AM and 5 PM, then board the Australis cruise at 6 PM. After meeting the captain and crew over a welcoming toast, the ship heads out through the Beagle Channel into Chilean waters toward one of Earth's most isolated regions.

Wulaia Bay
Early morning finds you sailing across Nassau Bay into Cape Horn National Park. Weather allowing, you'll go ashore on the windswept island to see the 425-meter rocky promontory and its lighthouse. Later at Wulaia Bay, check out the museum inside the old radio station, then pick from three hikes through Magellanic forest with different difficulty levels and bay views.

Garibaldi Glacier
Overnight sailing through narrow channels brings you to Pia Fjord by morning. You can take Zodiacs for a short hike with panoramic glacier views or tackle a longer difficult route up a lateral moraine. Later the ship heads west to Garibaldi Glacier where you'll either hike through virgin forest to a glacial waterfall with fjord views or stay on deck for easier panoramic sightseeing.

Condor Glacier
The ship sails early through Cockburn Channel into Agostini Sound with glacier views from the Darwin Mountain Range. You'll disembark for an easy lagoon walk around Águila Glacier, reaching a viewpoint directly facing the ice. In the afternoon, Zodiacs take you toward Condor Glacier where you might spot Andean Condors in their natural habitat.

Punta Arenas
After overnight cruising through Magdalena Channel and the Strait of Magellan, you anchor off Magdalena Island at dawn. Weather permitting, go ashore to hike among thousands of Magellanic penguins toward the 1902 lighthouse and small museum, seeing various local birds. By mid-morning you disembark in Punta Arenas around 11:30 AM for free time exploring the city, then reboard at 6:00 PM to continue south.

Tuckers Islets
By dawn the ship sails up Admiralty Sound between snowcapped peaks and fjords of Alberto de Agostini National Park. You'll go ashore at Ainsworth Bay with its abundant bird life and elephant seals, choosing from two guided hikes with views of Marinelli Glacier and the Darwin Mountains. Later sail west to Tuckers Islets for close encounters with around 4,000 Magellanic penguins and other seabirds.

Glacier Alley
Overnight sailing around western Tierra del Fuego through narrow channels brings you to Pia Fjord by morning. Board Zodiacs for a short hike to panoramic glacier views or take a longer difficult route up a lateral moraine. Back on the ship, continue east along Beagle Channel through Glacier Alley, passing numerous tidewater glaciers flowing from the Darwin Mountains and Darwin Ice Sheet.

Drop something into the wooden mail barrel as an ancient mariner tradition. In the afternoon sail across Nassau Bay to Cape Horn National Park and go ashore, weather permitting, to the legendary 425-meter promontory and lighthouse.
