- Day 1
Lima
You'll arrive in Lima and connect with your CEO and travel group for a welcome meeting. If you've booked the optional cooking class, you'll get picked up around 10:00 (10:30 from August through December) to visit a local market and restaurant, then return by 1:00 PM.

Lima to Paracas
Morning is yours to wander Lima's pedestrian avenue and try Peruvian food like ceviche or papa a la huancaina. After that, you'll travel by bus and minibus down the coast to Paracas where you can sample your first Pisco sour.

Paracas to Nazca
An optional morning boat trip takes you to Ballestas Islands to see sea lions, pelicans, penguins and birds. Later you'll head south to Nazca, passing through the colonial town of Ica. You'll stop at a winery and check out the Oasis of Huacachina to explore sand dunes and learn about local wines and distilleries.

Nazca
A guided tour covers the ancient Nazca Lines desert cemetery and you'll visit a potter's studio to watch artisans create Nazca-style pottery. An optional flight over the Nazca Lines gives you a bird's-eye view of this archaeological site. Later in the evening, you'll board an overnight bus heading to Arequipa.

Arequipa
You have the day free to explore Arequipa, known as the 'white city'. You can optionally visit the Santa Catalina Monastery to see historical life, or just wander the city on your own. Food lovers will want to check out the local Picantería restaurants for regional specialties like alpaca, shrimp, and spicy sauces.

Arequipa to Chivay
You'll travel through Salinas y Aguada Blanca National Reserve on a rough, rutted road, spotting vicunas, alpacas and llamas. There's a stop at Mirador de Patapampa lookout at 4,910m (16,110 ft), the tour's highest point, with views of nearby volcanoes. You'll arrive in Chivay near Colca Canyon.

Chivay to Puno
Starting early, you'll take a guided tour of Colca Canyon to spot Andean condors. Then you'll continue by bus over the mountains and descend to Puno on Lake Titicaca's shores. You'll have time to explore the markets and city once you arrive.

Lake Titicaca
You'll head out by boat across Lake Titicaca to visit the Taquile Islands community. Optional lunch at a local restaurant offers spectacular views. After that, you'll cruise to another village for an overnight homestay on the lake's shores where you'll learn about highland life and join in local traditions.

Lake Titicaca
Late morning you'll leave the homestay families and visit the Uros Islands, the famous floating islands on the way back to Puno. You can optionally see the chullpas (funerary towers) of Sillustani, a pre-Inca archaeological site. Optional kayaking is also available on Lake Titicaca.

Puno to Cusco
You'll board the bus for a full day's drive to Cusco through the high Altiplano region with stark, beautiful scenery throughout. You'll arrive with time to check out the city, find a spot for dinner, or get ready for heading into the Sacred Valley.

- Day 12
Sacred Valley
You'll take a full-day guided tour through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll visit a G Adventures-supported women's weaving co-op to learn about traditional techniques and meet the artisans, then a pottery-making community. Lunch happens at Parwa Community Restaurant in Huchuy Qosco where proceeds support the local community. After eating, you can optionally hike to Ollantaytambo storehouses or walk the cobblestone streets and local corn beer bars.

Inca Trail Day 1
You'll depart Ollantaytambo by van to km 82 where the Inca Trail begins. You'll trek through beautiful scenery with changing flora, passing several smaller ruin sites like Llactapata. Local porters, cooks, and guides handle camp setup and meals while you carry only a small daypack with essentials.

Inca Trail Day 2
Starting early, you'll climb the long steep path to Warmiwamusca (Dead Woman's Pass) at 4,198m (13,769 ft), the trek's highest point. Most hikers reach camp by early afternoon with plenty of time to rest and relax.

Inca Trail Day 3
Today involves crossing two more passes and ruins. The first pass is Runquraqay at 3,950m (13,113 ft) with potential views of snow-capped Cordillera Vilcabamba. You'll then hike through cloud forest to the second pass at 3,700m (12,136 ft) with spectacular Urubamba Valley views. You'll reach Phuyupatamarca ruins at 3,650m (11,972 ft), the 'town above the clouds', or continue 1.5 hours to Wiñay Wayna ruins at 2,650m (8,694 ft).

Inca Trail Day 4 to Machu Picchu
You'll start pre-dawn to reach the Sun Gate before sunrise and catch first views of Machu Picchu's ruins on a clear day. After hiking down, you'll get a guided tour of the ruins, then take the train back towards Cusco.

Cusco

Cusco to Amazon
You'll fly to Puerto Maldonado deep in the Amazon Jungle lowlands. After a brief stop in town to store large luggage, you'll drive to the pier and travel by covered motorized boat to the G Lodge Amazon. En route, you'll spot river and forest-edge birds. Local naturalist guides teach about the area's flora, fauna, medicinal plants, and traditional techniques. You'll do an evening wildlife-spotting night walk.

Amazon Jungle
Expert naturalists lead guided excursions to spot wildlife at nearby oxbow lakes and jungle trails. Early morning forest walks searching for wildlife, then canoe excursions looking for anaconda, giant river otters, black caiman, and other birds and animals. You can relax in a hammock, enjoy the local swimming hole, or visit a nearby plantation. An evening caiman-spotting cruise follows dinner.

Amazon to Lima
