Manaus
You'll arrive in Manaus and meet your Globus representative at the airport. Your Tour Director will catch up with you later when you reach Rio de Janeiro.

Manaus
Head out on a cruise to see the Meeting of the Waters where the dark Rio Negro flows alongside the yellowish Rio Solimões for about four miles without mixing together. After lunch, you'll walk around a jungle island to see native plants and animals, then settle in at the Ecopark Jungle Lodge on the Rio Negro in the rainforest.

Rio Negro
A Naturalist leads you on a walk through the Amazon to check out the local plants and wildlife. Following lunch, you'll travel by boat to an Amazon native Caboclo Village to learn how people live there and try your hand at piranha fishing. Later you visit the Monkey Jungle Reserve for rehabilitated primates, and then head out on a nighttime canoe ride with your Naturalist to look for nocturnal animals.

Manaus to Rio de Janeiro
Leave the Ecopark and head back to Manaus to see historic sites from the rubber boom period, including the famous Opera House from 1896 made with European materials. Walk through a local market with fresh fish, fruit, spices, and indigenous medicines. Then it's off to the airport for your flight to Rio de Janeiro.

Rio de Janeiro
The morning is free to do what you like. At 3:30 pm you'll meet your Tour Director for a drive past Ipanema and Copacabana beaches up to Sugarloaf Mountain. Take the cable car to the top for views of the city, and celebrate with caipirinhas at a private cocktail party overlooking Rio.

Rio de Janeiro
Ride the cog railway up Corcovado Mountain to see the Christ the Redeemer statue with 360-degree city views. You'll then explore downtown Rio checking out modern buildings and Portuguese colonial structures, the Sambodromo and Cathedral. The afternoon is free. Tonight you'll eat at a churrascaria sampling grilled meats the Brazilian way.

Rio de Janeiro to Iguassu Falls
Fly to Iguassu Falls and see this natural wonder with its spray and sound and tropical surroundings. A Local Guide takes you through Brazil's Iguassu National Park from the Brazilian side. You'll walk pathways near the falls and look for wildlife like toucans, agoutis, giant otters, anteaters, tapir, and maybe jaguars.

Iguassu Falls (Argentine side)
Cross into Argentina by motorcoach to experience Iguassu Falls from the Argentine side for a closer look. Walk the upper trails above the falls with views down to the water hitting the rocks below. Then explore the lower trails through rainforest to see smaller waterfalls up close. The rest of the day is yours.

Iguassu Falls to Buenos Aires
Head across the Brazilian border into Argentina and transfer to the airport for your flight to Buenos Aires. Once you arrive, you'll start exploring this city known as the Paris of South America with its wide streets and sidewalk cafés.

Buenos Aires
Begin in La Boca, a colorful historic area where the city's original port was located. Move to San Telmo with its older buildings and artist neighborhoods. See Plaza de Mayo with La Casa Rosada and the Metropolitan Cathedral containing San Martin's Mausoleum. Pass by the ornate Teatro Colón opera house and visit Recoleta Cemetery where Eva Perón is buried. Join a hands-on empanada cooking class, then learn tango and enjoy a farewell dinner with Argentine beef and a professional Tango performance.

Travel into the pampas to a working Argentine estancia (ranch) for a day of country living. After a traditional welcome with empanadas and local drinks, take a carriage ride across the grasslands learning about gaucho culture. Have an authentic lunch with Argentine beef, salad, and desserts while watching live gaucho music and dance. See a horseback demonstration by the gauchos before heading back to the city.
