Asked on July 22nd, 2023Just wondering if we will travel to any malaria risk areas? If so, are there any precautions the tour takes, and is medication recommended? or other advice you have?
Intrepid TravelOperator•Written July 2023Malaria can be contracted throughout the year in rural areas, particularly near the borders with Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar. Other mosquito-borne illnesses, such as Japanese encephalitis also occur in some areas. Always take preventative measures to protect yourself against mosquitoes such as wearing long clothing, using repellent and being indoors, particularly around dusk and dawn. We highly recommend you speak to your doctor about preventative medication if you are concerned about malaria.

Asked on July 13th, 2023Hi, my friends and I are interested in this group tour, however there is an issue we have run into regarding accommodation. The issue is that there are 3 of us, so we are automatically divided into two rooms, two of us in a twin room and one in a single room. Since the single room is very expensive per person, would it be possible for us to fit the three of us into one of the twin rooms and our third person can just sleep on the floor of the twin room. If this is not possible would we not be able to put our third person into a different twin room with another random traveller as to avoid the expense of paying for a single room?

The total rafting distance is about 10 km. It will take approximately two hours to two and 1/2 hours. It can be divided into 3 stages. Stage 1 is the easiest with level 2-3 rapids. The 2nd stage is the hardest, 4-5 level rapids with 8 islets to avoid. The 3rd stage is levels 3-4.

The difficulty level on the Mae Taeng River ranges from grade 3 to 5. It has been praised by travellers as some of the best whitewater rafting in Asia. This awesome rafting trip takes approximately 2 hours and finishes at the downstream camp, where you can rest and change into dry clothes.

Although you don't need to be an experienced rafter it is recommended that you are relatively active as there is hiking and biking involved as well. During your raft you will be equip with helmets and life jackets, and take a safety brief to get acquainted with the paddling commands, the correct way to sit in the raft, and the necessary precautions on river safety.
