What people love about Active Tours in Thailand
- A stunning 11 day Tuk Tuk Adventure in Northern Thailand
What an awesome trip! The team really made it, we had two great guides the whole way who made everything really easy. Learning to drive was stress free as it was away from the road, which helped us build our confidence. Then when the real driving started it was just so much fun. The accommodation was spot on too, and some of the hotels had pools which was perfect for the days that we weren't driving. Favourite place was probably Pai, the hotel was really nice and we had some ace nights as a group in Pai. We thought the team got it all spot on and we couldn't have asked for anymore. The activities on the days in between driving were great. Loved the trek in the national park too, and the throughout the whole trip it had just the right balance between driving the tuk tuks, exploring the towns we were staying in, and relaxing by the pool.
- A 5 Day Tuk Tuk Adventure in beautiful Chiang Mai
Wow, what a fantastic day out yesterday. The scenery is beautiful and so nice to see some of the countryside and small villages. Makes a big change from bustling Chiang Mai city. I didn't drive a tuktuk myself as I don't have a driving license but this didn't deter from the day at all as I got to enjoy the views from my comfy seat in the back whilst my husband did all the driving. It was wonderful to be so close with elephants and even get in the water with them and help brush and clean them. The baby one is so playful and the big one is huge it is fascinating just to watch him. You can see that the elephants are well cared for which is important to know as you do have to be careful with that in Thailand. Lunch was good and the rafting was a nice relaxing finish to the day. Really well organised and the guys running it are really nice and funny so you are well looked after. Worth the money!
- Thailand Culture and Adventure Tour: From Bangkok to Phuket 15-Day
Guide and driver were excellent. Tour was good we decided one day in the mountains was enough returned to chaing mai one day early at our own hotel expense. The guide made sure we had a good time and accommodated our request. It was great all the hotels were good but none exceptional chaingmai hotel was a bit too small but very clean and helpful. Good location. We declined the train to return to Bangkok and flew instead at our own expense. No refund was ever offered. I doubt I will ever book through legends again.
What our customers ask about Adventure Tours & Trips in Thailand
When is the best time to go on an Adventure tour in Thailand?
Plan your Thailand adventure between November and March to get the most comfortable weather conditions with cooler temperatures and less rain particularly in northern regions like Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai. One TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The weather was good mostly dry and sunny. We had some heavy rain lasting up to 2 hours on some of the nights." For southern destinations like Krabi and Phuket December to April brings calmer seas that are better suited for water activities and island exploration.
What type of accommodation can I expect on a Thailand Adventure tour?
Your nights will be spent in a mix of places from standard hotels to unique local stays. You'll find properties like the Imperial River House Resort in Chiang Rai and floating bungalows at Cheow Lan Lake. Some tours include stays in hill tribe villages and eco-lodges like the Anurak Community Lodge in Khao Sok. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The mix of accommodation was perfect - from the comfortable Empress Hotel in Chiang Mai to the authentic homestay experience in the Karen villages each place added to the adventure."
What are the must-do Adventure activities in Thailand?
Thailand's adventure scene lets you drive Tuk Tuks on mountain roads in Chiang Mai sleep in floating houses at Khao Sok National Park and trek to remote Hill Tribe communities. The country offers bamboo rafting experiences in Mae Wang cave exploration near Pai and kayaking in mangrove forests. "The Tuk Tuk adventure through the mountains was an unforgettable experience offering a unique way to explore remote villages" shared a TourRadar traveler from The Tuk Tuk Club tour.
What fitness level is required for Thailand Adventure tours?
These tours need moderate fitness for activities like hiking in Doi Inthanon on 5-6km trails kayaking in Khao Sok National Park and walking through temple complexes. A TourRadar traveler noted from their G Adventures experience: "The trek isn't too challenging - the trail is excellent mostly downhill or flat except for the first 200 meters making it suitable for all fitness levels."
How much should I budget daily for a Thailand Adventure tour?
Expect to spend between 150-200 USD daily which includes tour costs ranging from 91-310 USD per day based on your chosen tour level. This covers your room guided activities and some meals. Set aside 30-40 USD extra per day for additional meals local transport and optional activities. One TourRadar traveler advised: "Plan for extra activities like Thai cooking classes in Chiang Mai or additional treks which can cost between 30-50 USD each."
How many people are typically in an Adventure tour group?
Groups usually consist of 8-15 travelers which creates an easy atmosphere for getting to know each other and moving through remote locations. Some operators like The Tuk Tuk Club keep numbers around 12 while G Adventures usually has 12-15 participants. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Our group of 10 was perfect - small enough to bond quickly but large enough to make new friends from around the world."
