Itinerary
- Day 1
Victoria Falls
You'll arrive at the airport in Zimbabwe and get transferred to your hotel in Victoria Falls. If your flight gets in early, there's time to walk around and see the falls on your own before the welcome meeting at 6 pm. If you're interested in more action, you can book a scenic helicopter flight or check out Shearwater Adventures activity centre, though both are optional.

Landmarks Victoria Falls - Day 2
Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park
After leaving Victoria Falls, you'll head to Hwange National Park. This afternoon you're going out on a guided 4WD game drive through the park. The landscape is really diverse, so you'll have chances to spot elephants and over 100 different mammal species, plus close to 400 bird species if you're into birding.

- Day 3
Hwange to Matobo National Park
You'll leave Hwange and drive toward Matobo, but first you stop at the Painted Dog Conservation Centre to learn what they're doing to protect painted dogs and their habitat. Later you'll grab lunch at a local restaurant in Bulawayo, then continue on to Matobo National Park where you're staying for two nights.

- Day 4
Matobo National Park
This is a full day tracking rhinos on foot with local guides who know the area well. Along the way they'll point out local plants and explain how people traditionally use them. You'll also get chances to see leopards, hippos, and antelope. In the afternoon you visit San rock paintings in the hills and spend time in nearby villages talking with local people.

Matobo to Mapesu Private Game Reserve
You're crossing the border from Zimbabwe into South Africa and arriving at Mapesu Private Game Reserve, which covers 12,500 hectares and focuses on biodiversity and conservation work. After settling in you'll have dinner with your group and can spend the evening looking at the night sky, which is full of stars out here.

Mapesu Private Game Reserve and Mapungubwe National Park
You'll explore Mapungubwe National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The main attraction is Mapungubwe Hill where you can see a 13th-century grave site with gold-foil ornaments, jewelry, and the famous gold-covered rhinoceros. During the day you have free time to relax at the lodge if you want, or you can take an optional game drive. By evening you head out on a night safari in Mapesu to see nocturnal animals.

Mapesu Private Game Reserve to Greater Kruger National Park
You'll drive early toward Greater Kruger National Park and stop at Black Mambas headquarters. This is the world's first all-female anti-poaching unit, and they'll show you how they patrol the park, set up roadblocks, and remove snares. You get a behind-the-scenes look at their operations room and learn what they do day-to-day.

Greater Kruger National Park
Starting early, you enter Kruger National Park for a full day of watching wildlife. You'll have a picnic breakfast in prime viewing areas, then spend the day watching game, birds, and stopping by waterholes where animals gather. Kruger has over 500 bird species, 100 reptile species, and 150 mammal species including all the big cats. You'll head back to the lodge in late afternoon.

Greater Kruger National Park to Johannesburg
You're driving back to Johannesburg today, and there are a couple scenic stops along the way. You'll pull over at Three Rondawels Viewpoint and Bourke's Luck Potholes to break up the drive and take in the landscape. Your trip wraps up once you reach Johannesburg.
