Antananarivo to Andasibe
Your driver takes you from Antananarivo to Andasibe, a scenic 4.5-hour drive eastward through the highlands and into dense rainforest. Later in the evening, you'll head out on a night hike to spot nocturnal wildlife like mouse lemurs, frogs, chameleons, and leaf-tailed geckos.

Andasibe
Today you explore the Maromizaha Reserve, known locally as the dragon tree forest. You can choose between a full-day hike to find Sifaka and Indri lemurs plus a natural cascade, or a night tour to observe nocturnal lemurs, bats, and amphibians.

Andasibe to Antananarivo
This morning you visit Analamazaotra National Park to see lemurs, tropical birds, chameleons, and rare orchids in the rainforest setting. The visit takes up to 4 hours with different route options available. After that, your driver takes you back to Antananarivo and your hotel near the airport.

Antananarivo to Ifaty
You're driven to the airport for your flight to Toliara. Once you land, your driver takes you about 30 minutes north to the coastal village of Ifaty/Mangily where you'll check in. If your flight arrives early enough, you can visit the thorn forest with its baobab trees and the turtle village.

Ifaty to Ranohira
Your journey starts on the famous National Road 7 heading north from Ifaty toward Ranohira, a village near Isalo National Park. The drive crosses through a dry, steppe-like area before you reach the beautiful mountains of the Isalo massif, roughly a 7 km drive from town.

Ranohira
You spend the day exploring Isalo National Park, an 80,000-hectare park featuring dramatic sandstone cliffs, deep canyons, and eroded rock formations. You can spot lemurs, birds, and chameleons in the Canyon des Makis and Canyon des Rats, or take the scenic Namaza trail to a natural swimming pool.

Ranohira to Ambalavao
You continue north on RN7 through increasingly green and wet landscape. Along the way, you visit Anja Park, a small private reserve run by the local community with about 300 maki lemurs, birds, chameleons, and nice views from rocky promontories. Later you explore Ambalavao town.

Ambalavao to Ranomafana
You continue north on RN7 for about an hour to reach Fianarantsoa, a historic old town built on several hills and surrounded by vineyards. The town, home to over 1000 churches, appears on the World Heritage List. You can visit the Karenjy company or grab lunch at Tsara Guesthouse before a 2-hour drive east to Ranomafana.

Ranomafana
You explore Ranomafana National Park on a discovery tour with an experienced local guide. This 40,000-hectare primary forest is home to endemic flora and fauna found nowhere else, including 12 lemur species, birds unique to Madagascar, and numerous reptile and butterfly species.

Ranomafana to Antsirabe
After breakfast, you leave the Ranomafana rainforest and travel up to 6 hours to Ambositra, famous for its wood crafts. You visit the Zafimaniry woodcarvers at work, an ethnic group known for artistic wooden sculptures and inlay work. Then you continue to Antsirabe on RN7.

Antsirabe to Miandrivazo
This morning you explore Antsirabe, founded by Norwegian missionaries. The town has a tranquil feel with charming architecture along tree-lined streets and natural thermal springs believed to have healing properties. Later, you drive west to Miandrivazo, a village named after a royal legend from King Radama I.

Miandrivazo to Morondava
In the morning or after lunch at a restaurant of your choice, you drive to Morondava (268 km, about 5-6 hours). The journey passes through several villages and rice fields. You'll see baobab trees appearing along the road, and if you climb Mount Menabe or explore the southwest region, panoramic views of plains and rice fields appear.

- Day 14
Morondava to Bekopaka
You continue to the UNESCO-protected Tsingy National Park of Bemaraha in deep west Madagascar. The journey takes around 8 hours on unpaved roads, crossing two rivers. You'll cross the Tsiribihina River on a wooden ferry and take a lunch break in the small village of Belo sur Tsiribihina, arriving in Bekopaka by late afternoon or early evening.

Bekopaka
Today you explore the famous Tsingy de Bemaraha, UNESCO-protected limestone formations. You visit the Small Tsingy near Bekopaka with various circular routes and cave options, including kayaking on the Manambolo River in hollowed-out tree trunks. The area is home to 11 lemur species, 90 bird species, and 350 plant species.

Bekopaka to Kirindy
You leave Tsingy and begin a 6-hour journey back south along the west coast. After arriving in Kirindy, you're transferred to your hotel. In the evening, you go on a night walk through Kirindy forest to spot drought-adapted wildlife like mouse lemurs, baobabs, birds, bats, and possibly a fossa hunting.

Kirindy to Morondava
In the morning, you visit the Kirindy forest to see drought-adapted plants and animals including baobabs, endemic lemur species like Sifakas and Propithecus verreauxi, birds, bats, and possibly a fossa (the island's largest predator). After a late lunch, you return to Morondava and enjoy the sunset at the famous Baobab Alley.

You relax on the island of Sainte Marie, an almost 200 square kilometer paradise with about 16,000 inhabitants. You have idyllic beaches and fishing villages to explore. A visit to the pirate cemetery comes highly recommended. Consider renting a bike to explore the island or visiting Iles aux Nattes nearby for beautiful sandy beaches.
