- Day 1
Paris
You'll arrive in Paris and get transferred to your hotel, giving you time to drop off your bags and freshen up. After you've settled in a bit, head down to the hotel reception in the afternoon to pick up your tour information and get the details on what's coming next.

- Day 2
Paris
Start your day at the Palace of Versailles, walking through the grand rooms and then out to the gardens. After that, head back into Paris and spend time wandering around Montmartre's artistic neighborhoods. You'll also take a panoramic tour through the city to see the main avenues and famous landmarks. If you're interested, there's an optional show in the evening you can catch.

- Day 3
Paris to Tours
Get up to the second floor of the Eiffel Tower, then take about an hour and fifteen minute boat ride along the Seine. The afternoon is yours to walk around Paris however you like. Around 5:30 p.m., you'll head out toward the Loire Valley and arrive in Tours later that night.

- Day 4
Tours - Bordeaux - Lourdes
You'll drive south through vineyards heading to Bordeaux, a UNESCO World Heritage site where you can check out the Port of the Moon and the Cathedral of St. Andrew on your own. Then it's on toward the Pyrenees to Lourdes, arriving in the late afternoon. You can join the candlelight procession at the basilica, and dinner's included back at your hotel.

- Day 5
Lourdes - Carcassonne - Narbonne - Marseille
Head to Carcassonne and walk around the medieval walls and historic center. After lunch, continue on to Narbonne to see the old town with its Occitan character. Later you'll reach Marseille, France's second largest city, arriving in the late afternoon where you might take a stroll around the Vieux-Port harborside.

- Day 6
Marseille - Arles - Les Baux - Avignon - Lyon
This day takes you through Provençal villages and history. In Arles, you'll see the Roman and medieval sites plus Van Gogh locations. Next, visit the medieval village of Les Baux and check out the underground Carrières de Lumières with its art and light show. Grab lunch and walk through Avignon to see the Palais des Papes, then end in Lyon exploring the old town and taking the cable car up to Notre-Dame de Fourvière for views.

- Day 7
Lyon - Tournus - Beaune - Savigny - Dijon
From Lyon, you'll head into Burgundy and stop in Tournus, a small town with its stone gate and abbey. Continue to Beaune for lunch and time to look around this wine capital. Then visit Savigny Castle, a 15th century fortress with museums full of motorcycles, race cars, planes, and helicopters. The day ends in Dijon where you can walk the lively streets and see the medieval buildings and Palace of the Duks.

- Day 8
Dijon - Fontenay Abbey - Semur-en-Auxois - Vézelay - Paris
Leave Dijon for Fontenay Abbey, a UNESCO site and included stop. After that, stop in Semur-en-Auxois, a medieval town surrounded by old walls. You'll have lunch and time to walk around Vézelay, one of France's most beautiful villages with its large basilica that was historically a starting point for pilgrimages. Then you head back to Paris, arriving in the evening.
