What people love about France Tours from Paris
- Paris, Normandy and the Loire
The local expert guides were of variable quality. The Louvre guide was one of the best ever. The Versailles guide was awful. One of us needed to use a CPAP machine and COSMOS was almost nasty in their reply as to whether the hotels could accommodate it. They made no guarantee that power would be available, and provided a disclaimer of any responsibility. We brought our own power adapter, plug adapter and extension cord...and distilled water (because no one was able to tell us were in Paris we could get distilled water...not an exaggeration). In the end, everything worked out. However, the stress and uncertainty were an issue before every different hotel. For this reason we would not use COSMOS again.

This itinerary was fantastic. There was a nice variety between small villages and castles. Days were long and required lots of walking but the experience was worth it. The bus was comfortable but I was disappointed that it did not have wifi. Our driver was fantastic, handling a big bus through tiny villages with narrow streets. There were many opportunities to enjoy local cuisine. There was little communication the first 2 days in Paris, and if I had to do it over, I would have stayed in Paris on my own, and joined the tour the morning it left for Normandy. The rest of the trip was fabulous.
- France Mon Amour
I am a traveler in my 70s so that may affect my view of this tour. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the hotels, the bus transportation and meals that were included. We had very busy, long days that covered a wide area in a short time. They did what was advertised. The oversight is fairly well organized in order to give the price. There are tour groups that may shift buses in order to meet the various tours they are running. My main group had 20 - 30. At first I think the tour guide expected the tour was in English but since some only spoke Spanish, she had to switch between languages and the whole tour was this way. Once we went out of Paris, a second tour guide was provided but since the majority spoke Spanish, it was really 2 tour guides covering a larger group. Foe one of the days, the whole bus was full. When the our says transport provided, they mean they drop you off and you have time to yourself. In Paris, you may have to get back to the hotel outside Paris. It is not that hard if you prepare yourself to know the metro, a city map and what you want to see. I was not that prepared and as a solo traveler was concerned about getting lost. Luckily I stayed with fellow travelers during those times but they were more into walking than I am usually able to do. I think this tour is suited to younger people who might prefer time on their own to go where one choses but at this point I like having a guide that can get you past lines and take to the best places in the time that we have. With guides speaking 2 languages, we did not get the information I like to learn about a place. The guides work hard but a lot of it is coordinating everything with the main office and sometimes we missed things because we were late and things were closed. All in all, I enjoyed the tour, if the style and price work for you just know to prepare ahead of what to see at a stop.
