Itinerary
- Day 1
Sofia
You'll get picked up from the airport and head to your hotel for a briefing about the tour. Around 3:00 p.m., you start checking out Sofia's main sights like Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, the Russian Church, and some local mosques. The Stalinist architecture throughout the city is quite distinctive if you pay attention to it. After that, the rest of your day is open so you can wander around and get a feel for Bulgaria's capital at your own pace.

Bachkovo Monastery - Plovdiv
You'll leave early to reach Bachkovo Monastery, which is Bulgaria's second most important one with three peaceful churches from the eleventh century. From there, you head to Plovdiv, one of Europe's oldest cities, where lunch is included. Then you tour the Roman Amphitheatre, the Old Pharmacy, and the Armenian House to see how the city has developed over centuries.

- Day 3
Rose Valley - Kazanlak - Veliko Tarnovo
You travel through the Balkan Mountains to Kazanlak in the Rose Valley. There you'll see the Thracian Tomb replica and learn about how the local rose production works. Next is the Shipka Memorial Church, followed by Etar, which is an ethnographic village museum where you can walk through traditional buildings. After lunch, you head to Arbanasi to check out the Nativity Church in this ancient trading city known for its fortress-like houses. By evening you'll reach Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria's former capital with its medieval center to explore before settling in.

You'll travel toward Romania and stop at Basarbovski Monastery, a pilgrimage site carved right into the rock. Then you cross the border and the Danube River, arriving in Bucharest around 1:00 p.m. A panoramic tour of the historic center and the Palace of Parliament takes up your early afternoon. After that, you have free time to walk around the city on your own before dinner.

Bucharest - Sinaia - Bran - Sighisoara
You head into Transylvania through the Carpathian Mountains and forests. In Sinaia, you stroll through the gardens around Peles and Pelisor Castles. Then you visit Bran Fortress, known as Dracula's Castle, with tickets already included. Lunch happens somewhere along the way before you continue to Sighisoara, a walled medieval city and UNESCO site. By evening, you'll have a special dinner at Count Dracula's restaurant in the house where Vlad the Impaler was born.
