    Sofia

    You'll arrive in Sofia and get transferred from the airport to your hotel. There's a welcome dinner scheduled for the evening, then you'll settle in for the night.

    Sofia

    After breakfast, you'll take a panoramic city tour of Sofia covering the 5th century St. Sofia Basilica, National Parliament, Roman Serdica ruins, and St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral. The afternoon is yours to spend on Vitosha Art Boulevard, where you can walk through boutiques, shops and cafes at your own pace.

    Sofia to Plovdiv

    Following breakfast, you'll head to the 10th century Rila Monastery, Bulgaria's largest spiritual center, to see its collection of icons and wall paintings. The museum there has an intricately carved wooden cross featuring 650 figures. After lunch at a local restaurant, you'll travel to Plovdiv and spend the afternoon walking through the Old Town, checking out 18th century architecture, the Ethnographical Museum, St. Constantine and Elena Church, the Antique Theatre, and the Roman Stadium.

    Plovdiv to Veliko Tarnovo

    After an early breakfast, you'll transfer to Kazanluk to learn about Bulgarian rose oil production and see the 4th century Thracian Kazanlak Tomb. Next, you'll visit Etara Open-Air Museum to explore over 300 years of Bulgarian tradition. By afternoon, you'll reach the village of Arbanassi, known for its ancient decorated churches and striking architecture from when it served as a residence for Bulgarian kings.

    You'll have breakfast and then take a city tour of Veliko Tarnovo, visiting Tsarevets hill with its fortress, patriarchal church, and Emperor Baldwin's Tower. From there, you'll head to Rusenski Lom River Valley to see the 12th-14th century Rock Churches of Ivanovo, recognized for their unique frescoes and UNESCO designation. In the afternoon, you'll cross the Danube and drive toward Bucharest.

    After breakfast, you'll take a panoramic tour of Bucharest including the Royal Palace, University's Library, City-Hall, and a visit inside the Parliament Palace, the world's second-largest building by surface area. Then you'll drive through the Carpathian Mountains to Sibiu, traveling through the scenic Oltului Valley. Once you arrive in Romania's largest medieval city, you'll walk through Sibiu seeing the Evangelical Church, Council Tower, Large and Small Squares, Liars' Bridge, and Brukenthal Palace.

    Sibiu to Brasov

    You'll travel to Sighisoara via Biertan, stopping to visit the 15th-16th century fortified church there, which once served as a bishop's residence for over 300 years. Then you'll continue to Sighisoara, one of Romania's beautiful medieval towns and a UNESCO World Heritage site. You'll tour the 12th century citadel, Clock Tower with interior access, Covered Staircase, Dracula's birth house, and the Church on the Hill. Lunch happens at the 'Vlad Drakula' restaurant in Dracula's birth house. In the afternoon, you'll travel to Bran village to see Dracula Castle, then spend the night in Brasov.

    Brasov to Bucharest

    After breakfast, you'll explore Brasov's well-preserved medieval city center founded in the 12th century, including the main square, old city-hall, and the Black Church, the country's main Gothic monument. In the afternoon, you'll head to the mountain resort Sinaia, known as the 'pearl of the Carpathian Mountains,' to visit Peles Castle built in 1873 as the Romanian royal family's summer residence. You'll see the collection of old furniture, carpets, weapons and armor before returning to Bucharest in the evening.
