Itinerary
- Day 1
Tirana
Your time in Tirana starts at Skanderbeg Square, the city's central hub, then you'll head to Tirana Castle for views over the old town. The Museum of Leaves & Pyramid gives you a sense of the city's quirky character. After that, it's a drive out to Petrela Castle where you get those panoramic views and can walk through the surrounding village. Lunch comes at a former military base that's been turned into a farm-to-table restaurant, so the setting's quite unique. Later in the evening, you'll put on traditional Albanian clothes and settle in for an interactive night show with an 8-course meal, which is the main event here.

Lezha - Shkodra
The day takes you north to Kruja where you'll explore the fortress and wander through the Old Bazaar with its narrow streets and traditional shops. From there, you head up to Sari Salltik, a quiet mountain cave that's somewhat off the beaten path. Lunch is at Mrizi i Zanave, known for its farm-to-table approach. The afternoon brings you to Shkodra where you'll see Rozafa Castle and the Ethnographic Museum. Before wrapping up, there's time in the lakeside village of Shiroka where you can take a boat ride or do some birdwatching depending on what interests you.

- Day 3
Durres - Berat
You start your day at Rana e Hedhun beach, which has those distinctive sand dunes that make it visually interesting. Then you head south toward Durres to check out the Roman amphitheater and explore the ancient walls still standing from centuries back. From there it's continuing down the coast to Berat, arriving by evening. You'll have the option to relax at your accommodation or catch a folkloric music and dance event if you want to stay active.

- Day 4
Rroshnik - Apollonia - Vlora
This morning involves walking through Berat's fortified quarters and looking at the medieval art and architecture packed into the old town. Then you're heading inland to Rroshnik for wine tasting and a gourmet farm lunch, which gives you a taste of the agricultural side of the region. After lunch, you continue to Apollonia where the ancient ruins span Illyrian, Greek, and Roman periods, so there's quite a bit of history layered there. By evening you arrive in Vlora and walk along the Lungomare seaside promenade to get oriented.

- Day 5
Dhermi - Himara - Porto Palermo - Borsh
You'll be taking in views from Kuzum Baba and then heading into Llogara National Park where there are deer that roam around and don't mind visitors. The route includes stops in Dhermi village and its beach, then Himara further along the coast. Porto Palermo's fortress is next, a small romantic spot overlooking the water. You wrap up the day in Borsh, which sits quieter and more laid-back than the other coastal towns.

- Day 6
Borsh
The morning is yours to relax on Borsh Beach along the Ionian Sea, or if you want to do something, there's a hilltop castle in the area worth climbing to. Later you'll visit the Shrine of the Waterfall, a less-known site that locals believe has spiritual significance. It's tucked away and feels quite separate from the main tourist areas. The evening is dedicated to fresh seafood and local cooking, which is what the region does really well.

Saranda
You start from Lekursi Castle where there are sweeping views across the southern coast. Then you head to Butrint, a UNESCO site with ancient ruins to explore and plenty of history packed into one location. After that comes swimming time in Ksamil's turquoise waters, which is a nice change of pace from walking around archaeological sites. In the evening there's an Albanian Night show with music, dance, and traditional food, giving you another taste of local culture.

- Day 8
Gjirokastra - Antigonea
The Blue Eye is your first stop, and those vivid turquoise waters are the main draw there. From the water, you head to Gjirokastra to explore the fortress overlooking the town, the bazaar with its shops, and historic houses like Skenduli House and Kadare House. The ancient ruins at Antigonea are on the way back, offering another layer of historical context. The day finishes with a polyphonic singing performance, which has that haunting quality traditional to the region.

- Day 9
Tepelena - Elbasan - Tirana
You'll be checking out Tepelena's fortress and learning about Ali Pasha's Castle, both important to the area's history. Then it's on to Elbasan where there's an unusual castle that has people actually living inside it, which gives it a different character than typical ruins. After that, you're heading back to Tirana for an evening that's more relaxed, giving you time to decompress before the final days.

Tirana to Airport
