Itinerary
- Day 1
Rio de Janeiro
You'll arrive in Rio and get things rolling at 1 pm with an optional orientation walk led by your guide if you want to get oriented. At 6 pm there's a group meeting covering your Brazilian itinerary, so you'll want to be there for that. After the meeting, you can head to an optional welcome dinner with everyone to start getting to know your travel group.

- Day 2
Rio de Janeiro to Paraty
A shared transfer takes you from Rio to Paraty, which takes about 4.5 hours. Once you arrive, the rest of today and all tomorrow are yours to figure out. The cobbled streets are pedestrian-only (though they flood when the tide comes in), rainforest trails run through the national park, you can take boat trips around the island-studded bay, or head to the nearby village of Trindade where some of Brazil's best beaches are waiting. It's completely up to you.

Landmarks Paraty Trindade - Day 3
Paraty
You have the full day free in Paraty to do whatever appeals to you. Wander the colonial architecture and cobbled streets more, get into the rainforest trails to look for wildlife and waterfalls, or take a scenic boat trip around the bay. If you're feeling it, join an excursion out to Trindade for beach time, or just stick around town and relax in the atmosphere.

Landmarks Paraty Trindade - Day 4
Paraty to Ilha Grande
A shared transfer gets you to Angra, and from there you'll board a ferry to Ilha Grande, the whole journey running about 5 hours. This island has largely stayed undeveloped and you'll find rainforest, beautiful beaches, and interesting history, like the ruins from when it was a pirate lair, then a leper colony, and later a prison. After you settle in, head straight to the beach.

Ilha Grande
Two full free days stretch ahead of you on Ilha Grande. Hike rainforest trails to remote beaches like Lopes Mendes and Aventureiro Beach, or take an optional boat trip to the Blue Lagoon with beach-hopping around the bay. Fresh seafood restaurants are nearby, swimming and snorkeling in clear water is there if you want it, or just relax with a book on the sand. By evening, grab a caipirinha with your group at a restaurant or bar in Vila do Abrao, the main town.

Ilha Grande
Your second day in paradise gives you complete freedom to keep exploring Ilha Grande however you like. Spend more time on those remote beaches, take the optional boat trip to Blue Lagoon if you missed it, or just settle into the laid-back island rhythm. Plenty of spots serve fresh seafood, and swimming and snorkeling are always options, or you can just unwind. Meet up with your group again in the evening for caiprinhas and time together in Vila do Abrao.

Ilha Grande to Rio de Janeiro
Say goodbye to the island and board a boat to Mangaratiba, then a minivan carries you back to Rio de Janeiro, taking about 3.5 hours total. You'll land in Rio in the early to mid-afternoon with the rest of your day open. Check out the city, head to Copacabana to relax, or ask your local leader for recommendations on what to do. Later that evening, meet up with your crew for food, drinks, and samba.

Rio de Janeiro
This is your departure day, and you're free to leave your accommodation anytime you need to (just check your hotel's check-out policy). If Rio's got you hooked and you want to stay longer, the tour operator can set up additional accommodation if it's available, so that's worth asking about.
