  1. Day 1

    Sydney

    You'll arrive in Sydney for a 6 pm welcome meeting with your local leader and group. If time allows before then, take a walk around to see the Harbour Bridge, Opera House, Botanical Gardens, Hyde Park, or Sydney Tower Eye on your own. After meeting up, your group might head to Darling Harbour for dinner together.

  2. Day 2

    Sydney to Port Macquarie

    The drive north to Port Macquarie includes a lunch stop to stretch your legs along the way. You'll visit Crowdy Bay National Park and walk the Mermaid Lookout Track for ocean views, where you might spot whales, dolphins, or kangaroos. By evening you're in Port Macquarie with time to relax at your accommodation or catch the sunset from the beach.

    Start at the Koala Hospital in Port Macquarie where you can meet volunteers and learn how they rehabilitate koalas. Then it's a drive to Red Rock in Coffs Harbour with lunch on the way. Your group will gather for a barbeque dinner at sunset with traditional Australian food.

    Red Rock to Byron Bay

    You'll head out on Coffs Harbour for stand-up paddleboarding with the Gumbaynggirr community, paddling along the river with local guides. After that, you're heading to Byron Bay, stopping at the Byron Lighthouse for photos and to look for dolphins, whales, and other marine life.

    Byron Bay

    This day is yours to do what you want in Byron Bay. You could wake early for sunrise from Australia's most easterly point, search out cold-brew coffee at local cafes, try a beginner's surf lesson, or join a guided sea kayaking tour of the Byron Bay Marine Park. Alternatively, just relax on the beach and grab drinks with others at a pub or bar.

    You'll start at The Farm, a working property with micro-businesses where breakfast and lunch items are available. Then it's on to Springbrook National Park to walk to the Natural Bridge rock arch. Later you'll head into Lamington National Park, a World Heritage rainforest, to check out walking tracks and waterfalls before settling into a lodge for the night.

You'll have free time there to explore the town or spend it by the water along the famous beaches and surf spots. Later you travel to Brisbane for your final night, with your evening open to explore and try restaurants your leader recommends.
