  1. Day 1

    Arrival in Tashkent

    Your driver picks you up at Tashkent International Airport and takes you straight into the Old City. Start at Khast Imam, which serves as the religious heart of Tashkent, then walk through Chorsu Bazaar to get a feel for local life and grab lunch at the Central Asian Plov Center. After that, take a short metro ride to see Independence Square, the Alisher Navoi Theatre, and Amir Temur Square with its Monument of Courage before heading to check in at your hotel.

  2. Day 2

    Aral Sea Adventure

    Head out early to catch your domestic flight to Nukus. Once you arrive, you'll drive to the Mizdakhan ancient complex, then continue on to Muynak to see the Museum and the famous Cemetery of Ships that marks where the Aral Sea once was. Later in the afternoon, explore the Ustyurt Plateau with its dramatic cliff formations and visit a local camel breeder's family. By evening you'll reach the Yurt Camp where you can have dinner, swim, hike, and spend time stargazing.

    Aral Sea to Nukus

    After breakfast at the Yurt Camp, drive to Sudochie Lake, one of the largest lakes that formed after the Aral Sea receded. This spot is great for birdwatching where you'll see pink flamingos, white swans, and ducks. Stop in Kungrad for lunch, then drive back to Nukus for the evening.

    Nukus to Khiva

    Following breakfast, the Savitsky Art Museum is available if you want to visit on your own. Then drive 260 km toward Khiva with stops along the way to check out the ancient fortresses of Khorezm: Chilpiq Kala, Kyzyl Kala, Toprak Kala, and Ayaz Kala. You'll arrive in Khiva by afternoon and settle into your hotel.

    Khiva

    Start your walking tour of ancient Khiva by exploring Itchan Kala, the walled inner town. You'll see the madrasahs, Kalta-Minor, Kunya-Ark fortress, Juma Mosque, Tash-Khovli Palace, the towering Minaret of Islam-Khoja, and Pakhlavan Makhmud Mausoleum. The afternoon is free so you can wander on your own or rest up.

    Khiva to Bukhara

    Check out in the morning and have free time until the afternoon. Later on you'll transfer 30 km to Urgench train station for your overnight train to Bukhara. The train departs at 18:15 and you'll arrive early the next morning, with a transfer to your hotel waiting for you.

  7. Day 7

    Bukhara

    Begin with a walking tour of Bukhara's historic center covering plenty of ground. See the beautiful Lyabi-Khauz ensemble around a pool with the Kukeldash Madrasah and khanqah, then visit the Magoki-Attori Mosque (now a carpet museum) and Chor-Minor Madrasah. From there, check out the four surviving trade domes, madrasahs of Ulugbek and Abdulazizkhan, and the imposing Kalyan Minaret and Mosque. You'll also see the Ark Fortress and Bolo-Khauz Mosque before having some free time.

    Bukhara to Aydar Lake

    Drive to Gijduvan to watch artisans work at a traditional ceramics workshop. Continue on to Nurata where you can explore the Complex Chashma Spring and Namazgah Mosque, then hike up to see what remains of Alexander the Great's Fortress. Spend time swimming at Lake Aydar and walking along the shore before heading to the Yurt Camp for the night.

    After breakfast at the Yurt Camp, take a morning walk along Lake Aydar's lakeshore. Drive to Sentyab village for lunch at a guest house, then spend the afternoon exploring the area's flora and fauna, some of which are protected species. Have dinner with your host and stay overnight in a traditional guest house.

    Sentyab to Samarkand

    Have breakfast and drive just 10 km to Majrum village to see a thousand-year-old Biota Orientalis tree. Then drive 210 km to Samarkand, arriving by early afternoon. Check into your hotel and have free time to settle in. If you're interested, visiting Gur-Emir and Registan to see them lit up at night is worth considering.

    Drive 85 km to Shakhrisabz through dramatic scenery including Aman-Kutan Gorge and Takhta-Karacha Mountain Pass. Stop to see Teshiktosh, a rock formation with a hole that was used as a filming location for the 1973 movie 'Apachen'. Walk around Shakhrisabz on your own to visit the Mausoleum of Jakhongir, the remains of Ak Saray Palace, and Kok Gumbaz Mosque. Grab lunch at Family Restaurant KishMish before driving back to Samarkand.

    Samarkand

    Start with breakfast, then visit the major monuments. Tour Gur-Emir Mausoleum and Registan Square, known as the Pearl of Central Asia. See the striking Bibi-Khanum Mosque and browse Siab Bazaar, the largest market in Central Asia. Have lunch at the Plov Center, then continue with Khazrat Khizr Mosque, the Mausoleum of former President Islam Karimov, Shakhi-Zinda Necropolis, and Ulughbek Observatory. Stop by the Meros paper mill in Konigil village before heading to the train station in the evening for your overnight train back to Tashkent.

    After breakfast, drive 92 km to the Chimgan Mountains in the Western Tien-Shan range. Take a scenic chairlift ride to enjoy mountain views from above. Visit the Charvak Reservoir and explore unique prehistoric petroglyphs and rock carvings. Make photo stops to take in the landscape, then return to your Tashkent hotel with free time in the evening.
