Arrival
You'll arrive at the airport and transfer to the Heritage Adventurer, your expedition ship for the next nine nights. Once on board, you'll settle into your cabin and meet fellow travelers at a relaxed dinner. It's a good chance to get oriented and start connecting with the group before heading out.

Koolama Bay
The ship reaches Koolama Bay where you'll board a Zodiac and cruise along the King George River. The landscape shifts between towering red cliffs and mangrove forests as you move through. The main highlight is getting close to King George Falls, an 80-metre waterfall dropping from sandstone cliffs right in front of you.

Vansittart Bay
Today takes you to Vansittart Bay where you'll venture across the salt flats. There's a World War II wreck here, a US Air Force C-53 plane that crashed in 1942. You'll walk out to see it and learn about this piece of aviation history that's been sitting there for decades.

Ashmore Reef Marine Park
You arrive at Ashmore Reef Marine Park and take a Zodiac tour through a seabird haven. Up to 100,000 birds breed here annually, so you'll see quite a bit of wildlife activity. Later, you'll explore the coral reefs underwater where 255 species of reef-building coral live among diverse marine animals.

Swift Bay
This area is a maze of islands, inlets and peninsulas, named after Jonathan Swift. You'll focus on the rock art galleries, seeing ancient Wandjina and Gwion Gwion paintings that date back 5,000 to 13,000 years. The art is painted on rock overhangs in caves right near the water's edge.

Prince Frederick Harbour
Prince Frederick Harbour has lush mangrove ecosystems surrounded by red sandstone cliffs. You'll look for saltwater crocodiles, mudskippers, kingfishers and white-bellied sea eagles in the area. Later, you board a Zodiac to check out the Hunter River and visit Naturalists Island.

Doubtful Bay and Freshwater Cove
Montgomery Reef is the star of the day, dramatically rising from the ocean as you cruise past on a Zodiac. From there, you head into Doubtful Bay watching for whales. In the evening, you get an Insider Experience at Freshwater Cove with a local Aboriginal guide walking you through a Wandjina rock art site that's thousands of years old.

Talbot Bay
At Talbot Bay, the Horizontal Falls become your focus, formed by the bay's 12-metre tides squeezing water through a narrow gap between gorge walls. You'll experience this on a Zodiac and also explore Cyclone Creek. The area's wildlife keeps things interesting throughout the day.

Lacepede Islands and Buccaneer Archipelago
Your Zodiac tour heads to the Lacepede Islands, an Important Bird Area with lots of marine birds and Western Australia's main green sea turtle breeding habitat. Later, your ship cruises toward the Buccaneer Archipelago, a cluster of more than 800 islands with unique wildlife throughout.

Broome
You disembark from the cruise today and have the rest of the day to yourself. It's time to rest up and prepare before your land tour starts tomorrow. You can relax, grab a meal, or just recover from the ship experience.

Gibb River Road to Fitzroy Crossing
You leave Broome early on the iconic Gibb River Road heading into the Kimberley. First stop is Windjana Gorge where you'll see ancient marine fossils in the gorge walls. Next, you wade through Tunnel Creek, Western Australia's oldest cave system, to find a hidden oasis. By evening, you're at your premium accommodation in Fitzroy Crossing.

The Nyanyjili Footprint Tour starts with an Indigenous Australian Traditional Owner guide sharing stories and history of Bunuba country. You then travel to Purnululu National Park and check into Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge. The evening features open-air dining where you can take in the Kimberley atmosphere.

You spend a full day in Purnululu National Park seeing various locations. Cathedral Gorge shows off incredible natural acoustics, a vast amphitheatre created by erosion over millions of years. Later, you walk along Piccaninny Creek winding through the park's unique landscapes.

Echidna Chasm to Kununurra
The day starts with a hike to Echidna Chasm where narrow cliffs reach up to 200 metres. After wandering through this otherworldly spot, you travel to Kununurra and check in. Tonight offers an optional four-course dinner under the stars at the Gourmet Camp Oven Experience if you're interested.

You depart Kununurra this morning with views of the Cockburn Ranges ahead. By late morning, you reach Drysdale River Station, a million-acre working cattle station. The property's been family-owned since 1985 and was established in 1882, offering insight into life in one of Australia's most rugged areas.

Mitchell Plateau

Bell Gorge
The journey along Gibb River Road leads to Bell Gorge where towering cliffs frame cascading waterholes. You can take a refreshing dip at the top of the falls or hike down to the lower pool and swim beneath the waterfall. Back at the lodge, you'll gather for a Farewell Dinner with your group.

Boab Prison Tree to Broome
Today you visit the iconic Boab Prison Tree, 14 metres wide and over 1,500 years old. Early police patrols used this significant tree as a holding point for prisoners. After seeing it, you return to Broome where your holiday comes to an end.
