Itinerary
- Day 1
Bangkok
You'll arrive at Bangkok airport where a representative meets you at Gate No. 4. From there, it's a transfer to your hotel so you can settle in and rest after traveling. You'll stay overnight in Bangkok.
- Day 2
Bangkok
After breakfast, you'll head to the Grand Royal Palace and Wat Phra Kaew temple to see the Emerald Buddha. Then it's on to Wat Pho for the giant reclining Buddha, followed by Wat Traimit to see the Golden Buddha. In the afternoon, you'll take a long-tail boat on the Chao Phraya River and interior canals, stopping at Wat Arun. Back at the hotel you'll have free time. Overnight in Bangkok.

Bangkok to Kanchanaburi
Early morning drive southwest to Maeklong railway market for photos and local snacks. Then you'll continue to Damnoen Saduak floating market for a long-tail boat through the waterways. Drive to Kanchanaburi to see the World War II memorial, Jeath War Museum, and cemetery. Lunch is your choice at a floating restaurant by the Kwai River Bridge. After that, you'll take a train ride for about 30 minutes with river views. Overnight in Kanchanaburi.

In the morning you'll depart for Ayutthaya, the former Thai capital, about an hour and a half away. You'll explore temple and palace ruins including Wat Phu Khao Thong, the ancient palace, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Viharn Phra Mongkol Bopit with its large bronze Buddha, and Wat Lokaya Sutha with a big reclining Buddha. Lunch is on your own. Overnight in Ayutthaya.

Ayutthaya to Chiang Rai
This morning you'll check out Bang Pa-In Summer Palace from the Ayutthaya era, featuring European, Khmer, Thai, and Chinese architecture styles and the King's favorite summer retreat. Then you'll transfer back to Bangkok for your flight to Chiang Rai and hotel check-in. Your remaining time is free. Overnight in Chiang Rai.

Chiang Rai
After breakfast, you'll visit the local market then head to Wat Phra Kaew where the Emerald Buddha was once kept, and Wat Phra Singh with its beautiful Buddha image. A short drive takes you to the Black House, a unique blend of traditional northern Thai and modern design. Lunch is your choice. In the afternoon, a boat cruise on Mae Kok River goes to a Karen village where you can watch and feed elephants. Back to Chiang Rai for the night.

Later, take a boat trip on the Mekong River to see where Thailand, Burma, and Laos meet. Then transfer to Chiang Mai for check-in. Overnight in Chiang Mai.

Then stroll through small streets with traditional houses and take a rickshaw tour, walking through Warorot market. In the afternoon, head to Doi Suthep hill. Browse the Night Market on your own in the evening. Overnight in Chiang Mai.

Chiang Mai
After breakfast, depart in a local truck for jungle trekking to white Karen villages. You'll walk through jungle for about 2 hours to reach the village and meet locals. Continue another hour to a waterfall for swimming and a picnic lunch. In the afternoon, take a bamboo raft ride on the river. You'll return to Chiang Mai around 5 to 5:30 p.m. Overnight in Chiang Mai.
