Rüdesheim
You're in Rüdesheim by midday, and this is the heart of Rhine wine country. The Drosselgasse is a 144-meter street packed with wine taverns, so you'll find plenty of spots to grab a drink and watch the crowds. Walk through the stately homes and fortifications around town, and try a Rüdesheim coffee if you can find a café making it the traditional way.

The town sits right on the river, so there's plenty to see walking around the historic streets.

Once you board, the ship takes you through the Loreley Valley, which lines the Rhine with some really nice scenery along the way. By evening you'll arrive in Koblenz, where you can check out Deutsches Eck, the headland where two rivers meet, and walk through the old town to see the palaces and historic streets that make the city what it is today.
