Itinerary
- Day 1
Zurich to Interlaken
You'll leave Zurich and head south through Lucerne, where you'll have several hours to walk around this historic city before continuing onward. After that, you'll travel toward Lake Thunersee and stop at St. Beatus Caves. By evening you'll arrive in Interlaken for a two-night stay in the Bernese Oberland region, 47°N.

Grindelwald
Spend the full day in Grindelwald with lots of options available. You could hike the Eiger Trail to Alpiglen, take the train up to Jungfraujoch at the 'Top of Europe', walk through Gletscherschlucht canyon, or simply wander around at a relaxed pace. You'll return to Interlaken for the night, 46.6°N.

Start with a photo stop at Chälrütirank viewpoint, then take the cogwheel train from Vitznau up to Rigi Kulm on Rigi Mountain. You'll have free time to walk the panoramic path at Rigi Kaltbad before heading down by train to Arth-Goldau. From there continue to Chur, Switzerland's oldest city, for a two-night stay, 46.9°N.

You'll travel on the UNESCO-listed train from Chur to St. Moritz, a glamorous alpine resort where you'll have time to explore on your own. Later you'll take the train to Morteratsch for a two-hour walk through flower-filled meadows to reach Morteratsch Glacier, or you can relax at a local restaurant instead. You'll return to Chur for the night, 46.4°N.

After that you'll travel to St. Gallen to check out the old town, the twin-towered cathedral, and the UNESCO-listed Benedictine monastery before staying overnight, 47.4°N.

St. Gallen to Zurich
You'll start at Kyburg Castle, which sits above the River Töss and features a 14th-century feudal fortress with an award-winning museum inside. Next you'll go to Winterthur where you'll have a couple hours to see museums, galleries, and cultural attractions. Later you'll head to Rhine Falls, Europe's strongest waterfalls, with an optional boat ride available. You'll return to Zurich in the evening, 47.5°N.
