Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Tokyo
You'll land in Tokyo and meet your driver at arrivals for a private transfer to your hotel. After settling in, the rest of the day is yours to rest up from your flight.

Tokyo
Tokyo is open to you today. Head out and explore whatever catches your interest using the local train system. Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Akihabara each have their own vibe, or you could check out Tokyo Tower. How you spend the day is entirely up to you.

Kawaguchi Lake Region
An English-speaking guide picks you up for a private car tour of the Kawaguchi area. You'll do a guided cycling tour around Lake Kawaguchiko, stopping at Fuji Omuro Sengen Shrine and Kawaguchi Sengen Shrine. If you're interested, there's an optional Canadian canoe experience for beginners with full instruction included.

Hakone to Kyoto
Start with a Hakone day tour to Lake Ashino, then board the Hakone Pirate Ship for views of Mt. Fuji across the water. Next, take the ropeway up to Owakudani to see the volcanic crater and white smoke firsthand. After that, head to Mishima Skywalk suspension bridge for views of Mt. Fuji and Suruga Bay. By evening, you'll catch the Shinkansen bullet train to Kyoto and check into your hotel.

Kyoto
Kyoto is yours to explore at your own pace using taxis or public transportation. Kiyomizu-dera Temple sits high up and offers city panoramic views, and Yasaka Shrine is nearby. Hanamikoji Dori offers shopping and local atmosphere. Keep in mind Kyoto was Japan's capital for over 1000 years, so there's deep cultural history throughout the city.

Arashiyama
You have a half day in Arashiyama to wander through temples and nature. Tenryuji Temple has sprawling gardens worth your time, and the Sagano Scenic Railway runs along the Hozugawa River with beautiful views. Walk through the Sagano Bamboo Forest and see Togetsukyo Bridge. Okochi-Sanso features traditional Japanese architecture and a wabi-sabi teahouse. An optional bike ride is available if you'd rather explore on two wheels.

Fushimi, Nara, and Kyoto
Fushimi Inari Shrine has thousands of vermilion torii gates winding through forest trails on Mount Inari, so plan to spend time walking around. Then visit Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum for a tasting made with traditional techniques. From there, head to Nara Park where over 1000 deer roam freely (it's a designated natural treasure). Pick up deer crackers to feed the tame deer, then see Todaiji Temple with its historic Daibutsuden (Big Buddha Hall), built back in 752.

Hiroshima
You'll travel by bullet train and public transportation to Hiroshima with a tour guide. First, visit the Atomic Bomb Dome as a place of reflection and prayer for peace. Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park spans over 120,000 square meters and is considered one of Japan's three best views. The Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum uses photography, models, artifacts, and detailed explanations to document the atomic bomb's impact and Japan's historical military campaigns.

Miyajima and Return to Osaka
Travel by bullet train and public transportation to Miyajima with your tour guide. The island is romantic and historic, centered around Itsukushima Shrine with its centuries-old floating torii gate that's famous worldwide. You'll see wild deer here too, though unlike Nara, these ones cannot be fed. By evening, head back to Osaka via bullet train and public transportation.

Osaka
Osaka gives you a free day to go at your own pace using taxis or public transportation. Kuromon Market has great food and local products, Osaka Castle Park offers history, Dotonbori is the main entertainment district, and Shinsaibashi has shopping. You could also ride the Hep Five Ferris Wheel for city views.
