Itinerary
- Day 1
Phoenix to Aravaipa Canyon
Head out early from your Phoenix hotel and drive through desert landscapes to reach the Aravaipa Canyon trailhead. Once there, put on water shoes and start hiking into the canyon, moving in and out of the creek as your guide leads the way. The 700-foot canyon walls and Saguaro cacti frame the landscape around you while you watch for wildlife and traces of ancient people who lived here. By the time you reach camp, your guide will have a backcountry dinner ready for the evening.

Landmarks Aravaipa Canyon - Day 2
Aravaipa Canyon
After breakfast, trek east along the creek to explore side canyons and check out hanging gardens filled with unique desert plants. Keep your eyes open for Bighorn Sheep, Javelina, Mule Deer, frogs, lizards, snakes, fish, and various birds moving through the area. Back at camp later in the day, you'll have a backcountry feast to celebrate, then settle in for the night listening to the creek flow by.

Landmarks Aravaipa Canyon - Day 3
Aravaipa Canyon to Phoenix
Take a slower morning with a full breakfast before you pack up camp. Hike back out using the same route you came in on, then settle into the drive back to Phoenix. The scenic ride gives you time to relax and reflect on your time in the backcountry before arriving back at your hotel.
