I Have to highlight that this tour company has an excellent group of guides with a good English, and willing to go the extra mile to help you in everything you need. My personal experience is that my train booking (with another company) to exit China was cancelled, I was very distraught, Amber mi Beijing guide offer to help. She contacted Jenifer in main office who tried to find me a way out of China during a whole afternoon, finally finding a ticket by plane at night time. Besides they don't drop you at the train station doors and say I finish here, they go though security with you and guide you to the right train and right wagon. They do the same the airports, they handle your passport and answer security questions making sure you will be ok. the Itinerary was very good, the national parks amazing but at find it a little beat demanding specially with bad weather. I would like to see more of the cities, but that is a personal opinion. The hotels and the food are excellent and abundant only if you don't have to share a buffet with Chinese people on a river cruise, they don't leave anything for you.

The tour was good, we did see a lot of amazing things but For our first flight in the tour we were not informed that carry on luggage was only 20x30x40cm aloud and we had some problems Then our second last guide was hard to understand because her English was poor The last guide didn’t want to follow the itinerary. He took us up the Shanghai Tower and after that we asked him to go to the bund and his answer was, you have seen it from the tower, we told him it’s in our itineraries that we go there. He then took us but was not very happy. Also that day in Shanghai at lunch there were 2 beers for 10 people and he said, more is not in the budget. Didn’t we pay for our lunches?

Hi Uwe, thanks for your feedback. We are sorry for our insufficient tips for the size of the carry-on luggage because of the different requirements of different airlines. And we will also improve the service quality of our guides.

China was generally well organized, had great hotels and breakfasts. The bus for the Beijing portion was dirty, no USB port, had a terrible PA system with an echo, static and feedback. The other city’s buses/vans were great. Gim the Beijing tour guide was not as organized as Sissy or Michelle so we guests frequently asked each other what was going on next. The first day in Beijing was an 11 hour day that ended with mask painting. Some people participated and after said their masks were going in the garbage not the suitcase. It is an unnecessary and not pleasurable activity at the end of an exhausting day. After leaving Sunworld hotel, we picked up guests at 2 more hotels each morning in Beijing (for about 30-40 minutes) which seemed inefficient and a waste of time. Could we 19 guests not stay at the same hotel? An audio system with earpieces to hear the guide, would have been great in Beijing. Most of the 19 of us could not hear the guide explaining the history of the attractions, etc. We used these earpieces in Xi’an. What a difference and much less stressful! Zhangjiajie- 5 hour ‘before flight’ drop off is too early. There is nothing to do for 5 hours in a small airport. Could this flight to Shanghai be scheduled earlier? Shanghai-my flight arrival was delayed 2 hours and there was no one to meet me at arrivals after leaving the luggage carousel. I spoke with a young man waiting at arrival area for his girlfriend. He phoned my hotel and the desk staff suggested I drive to the hotel with this stranger and his girlfriend. TCT kindly refunded me this unused transfer. The itineraries and sites visited were excellent. The scenery was beautiful. The transportation flowed well using planes and bullet trains. The included meals were good but lunch in Shanghai was not. Our guide had only 2 of us in Shanghai. He fell asleep 6 times in the van during that one day. All drivers in the 5 cities were very good. Information regarding toilets was great with all tour guides

The difference between private tour and group tour will be you have individual guide all through your trip in China, and private tour is expensive that group tour. In group tours, there will be other customers join this tour, and you will have other accompanies during your trip. Generally speaking, we suggest that single travelers occupy a room, and you just need to pay the cost of single room. We can arrange transfer on Beijing Daxing Airport, which needs extra cost of 90USD. Hotel breakfast and lunch are included in our group tour.

    • B

      TravelerWritten September 2025

Can you pls confirm that lunch included are not at hotel but local choices with local Chinese food? Or should i expect ''western'' food options? Can we sort dinner by ourself on our own or usually we must to stay with the group? Trying to figure if is there any spare time or time i can also spend by myself, if needed! Can you pls clarify? How the cancellation policy works if any? How many people max should i expect in the group? What's the average age? If i want to skip some of the planned activities such as '' Peking opera facial mask painting'' or the pottery workshop etc and do something else independently- is it ok? Can i do so? Are the entrance fees of the main attractions and places listed in the itinerary are included in the total price or are extra? Are all the transports fees included in the trip are included in the overall price (trains- internal flights- private car - cable car etc)?

    • Top China TravelOperatorWritten September 2025

Our group tour includes your domestic transportation including trains, flights and transfers between cities. But please note that our Airport transfer in Beijing are on sharing basis. If you need extra transfer, transfer supplement will be charged. Tickets of the main attractions listed in our itinerary are included in the price. Since our itinerary are fixed, if you want to skip some of the activity, you'd better go not far away from our team because itinerary of our group tours are fixed. Generally speaking, our itinerary will be finished in the afternoon(about 18:00, which will depend on the actual situation) after your itinerary is over. The rest of the time is arranged by yourself. Our lunch are arranged our our guides, who will help you choose recommended Chinese foods for you, not at the hotel. And if you need western foods, you can communicate with our local guides. Cancellation is free if you cancel the booking a month before your tour. Other situation will be charged fees. Our group tour are 2-12 persons generally. The age will be depend on the customers who booked with us. I can not confirm that.

Just another question, for the circuit the price is around 2721 with flight included. Is this price ok for a departure from Brussels or CGD or the price is different depending from where you start ?

    • Top China TravelOperatorWritten February 2025

For your first question, I assume you prefer private tour. Are you interested in China Silk Road Tour? I would like you to consider these two tours: 16 Days Marco Polo Silk Road Tour covering Beijing, Urumqi, Kashgar, Turpan, Dunhuang, Jiayuguan, Xi'an and Shanghai. 19 Days Silk Road Experience covering Beijing, Xian, Lanzhou, Xiahe, Wuwei, Zhangye, Jiayuguan Pass, Dunhuang, Turpan, Urumqi, Kashgar and Shanghai. The price of the flights is different depending on where you start and arrive. Normally my company's tours only include the in-tour transportation, like domestic flights in China, high speed train in China, exclude the international flights. Besides, I might suggest to travel in China in Jun or Sep or Oct since your time is flexible. Cause you will avoid the Chinese summer holiday(Jul & Aug) for better tour experience.
