- Day 1
Flagstaff to Grand Canyon South Rim
Your hotel pickup in Flagstaff starts things off, then it's a 2-hour drive to the South Rim with some scenic stops along the route. You'll tackle the South Kaibab Trail, which covers 6 miles and drops 2,040 feet in elevation, so you're getting real views of the Canyon from there. After heading back and checking into your hotel, dinner happens at a secluded rim location where your guide prepares the meal (assuming weather cooperates). The sunset timing makes this evening special.

Grand Canyon South Rim to Flagstaff
The Grandview Trail is your hike today, ranging from 3 to 6 miles depending on how far you go, with elevation changes between 1,200 and 2,500 feet. Those scenic switchbacks show off the Colorado River and geologic layers, and the trail itself was hand-cobbled by miner Pete Berry back in the late 1800s. After finishing the hike, you'll exit through the East Entrance and stop at Desert View Watchtower, which is designed after a historic Native American structure. Then it's the 1.5-hour drive back to Flagstaff.
