Arrival in San Pedro de Atacama
You'll arrive at Calama airport and get transferred to San Pedro de Atacama, a quiet desert town nestled between salt flats and volcanic peaks. Once you settle into your accommodation, the rest of the day is open for you to walk around town at your own pace, grab lunch somewhere local, or just rest after your flight.

- Day 2
Valle de la Luna Excursion
The morning is yours to relax or try any optional early activities if you're interested. By afternoon, your guide picks you up for the Valle de la Luna tour. You'll see geological formations like the Greater Dune and Amphitheater, then stop at the Victoria Mine. Before sunset, there's a dinner break in Death Valley, and you'll finish the evening watching the sun go down from Piedra del Coyote with views of salt mountains and volcanoes stretching across the horizon.

Free Day in San Pedro de Atacama
This day is completely yours to spend however you'd like in San Pedro de Atacama. You can rent a bike and explore the surrounding area, take a hike, soak in medicinal hot springs, or check out one of the several optional excursions available. It's a good chance to move at your own speed and find what interests you most.

Part 1
An early pickup starts your four-day Altiplano exploration. You'll drive to the Chile-Bolivia border and cross into Bolivia. From there, the day includes Laguna Blanca and Laguna Verde with views of Volcan Licancabur, the Salvador Dali Desert, Polques hot springs where flamingos gather, the Morning Sun Geyser at nearly 5,000 meters (16,400 feet), and Laguna Colorada in the Eduardo Abaroa National Wildlife Reserve. By evening, you'll reach the remote village of Quetena Chico for an overnight stay in a basic hostel.

Part 2
After breakfast, you head north to Valle de las Rocas to see the Camel Stone and Stone Tree formations. Then it's on to Laguna Catal, a ravine area where you can spot native plants and wildlife. Once you've had lunch, you'll check into the salt hotel and have dinner before tomorrow's main event on the salt flats.

- Day 6
Salar de Uyuni Main Day
An early start gets you to Incahuasi Island for sunrise. This ancient island rises 3,822 meters (12,539 feet) with 10-meter cacti scattered across it. You'll have breakfast on the salt flats and spend time creating those perspective photos that everyone does here, dinosaurs and jumps and all. Then you visit Plaza de las Banderas to find your country's flag, explore the Eyes of the Salt with its mineral pools, browse the Colchani market, and see the Train Cemetery. After lunch with local food, you'll handle customs formalities in Uyuni and drive back to Quetena Chico for the night.

- Day 7
Return to San Pedro de Atacama
You'll wake early and have breakfast before driving to Hito Cajones at the Bolivia-Chile border to cross back into Chile. By around 11:30 am, you're back in San Pedro de Atacama with the afternoon and evening free to relax, walk around town, or grab a meal somewhere quiet.

Departure
Your trip wraps up today. After breakfast, you'll be transferred to Calama airport for your flight home, leaving with memories of the Atacama Desert and the Altiplano behind you.
