Itinerary
- Day 1
Cairo
You'll land in Cairo and get checked into your hotel. After settling in, you'll meet up with your tour group and get oriented for the week ahead. It's a good chance to rest after travel and grab dinner before heading out in the morning.
Landmarks Cairo - Day 2
Cairo
Start the day at the Egyptian Museum to see King Tutankhamun's treasures and other artifacts. From there, head to Giza where you can walk around the Great Pyramid of Cheops and the Sphinx. You'll also check out the newly discovered Noble Tombs in the area. It's a full day of ancient history.

Cairo
Begin in Old Cairo's walled streets to see Saladin's 12th-century citadel and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohammed Ali. Then drive to Memphis and see the statue of Ramses II. After grabbing lunch at a local spot, head to Saqqara to walk through the desert necropolis with the Step Pyramid of King Zoser and other royal tombs.

Cairo to Luxor
Fly 300 miles south to Luxor and board your Nile River cruise ship. Visit the Karnak complex and walk through the massive pillars of the Temple of Amun Ra. After lunch onboard, head to Luxor Temple in the afternoon. By evening, you'll catch live entertainment performed on the ship.

Luxor to Edfu
Cross to the west bank to explore the Valley of the Kings and Valley of the Queens, where you'll see 63 royal tombs including Tutankhamun's. Visit Queen Hatshepsut's rock temple at Deir El-Bahri and stop at the Colossi of Memnon for photos. Later in the afternoon, attend a lecture from your Egyptologist while the ship sails toward Edfu.

Edfu to Aswan
Check out Edfu Temple with its black stone falcon statue. During your leisurely sail to Kom Ombo, you'll join an Egyptian cooking class onboard. Once you arrive, explore the twin temples of Kom Ombo dedicated to Sobek-Ra and Horus. The evening brings a party night celebration on the ship.

Aswan to Cairo
Join a guided tour of the Granite Quarries where ancient Egyptians sourced stone for pyramids, and see the unfinished obelisk. Take a motorboat to Agilika Island to visit the Temple of Isis, which was relocated from Philae. Stop for photos at the Aswan High Dam built in 1970, then fly back to Cairo.

Drive to Coptic Cairo to visit Abu Serga Church from the fourth century and the 9th-century Jewish synagogue. Later, take a traditional wooden Felucca on the Nile with light lunch and panoramic views. Finish by browsing shops in the Khan al Khalili Souk bazaar.

Fly to Amman, Jordan's capital city. You'll have free time to walk around and get a feel for the place. Meet up for dinner at your hotel before settling in for the night.

Amman to Petra
Start with a city tour of Amman visiting the citadel and Roman Theatre, then walk through the old markets downtown. A motorcoach takes you to Mt. Nebo to see the alleged burial site of Moses and St. George Church in Madaba with its famous mosaic. Continue to Petra for dinner at your hotel.
