We loved our tour guide in Aswan and Luxor region. Very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and very personable. I recommend this guide highly. (Ahmed Hakim) All our airport pickups were on time and very helpful. Got us through immigration quickly and efficiently. Accommodations were good. Not quite up to American standards but good. Hotels had buffets. Some better than others but all good. The trip went smoothly with no issues. I have no complaints.

Best time to visit Egypt and Jordan
- Winter 2025 / 2026
For winter travelers, our Egypt and Jordan combinations really shine from December through February. Our most comprehensive tour covers 19 days across both countries and goes all the way to Israel. Winter visitors tell us they appreciate the cooler temperatures for exploring Luxor's Valley of the Kings and wandering through Petra's narrow canyons. Several of our customers specifically mention guide Momo, who helps them get to sites early before the crowds and heat build up. Another excellent winter option focuses purely on Jordan and Cairo - you'll spend more time at each location and get to float in the Dead Sea when the water temperature is perfect. The winter tours include a mix of accommodation from luxury Cairo hotels to authentic Bedouin camps in Wadi Rum, with most travelers loving how they can experience both worlds.

- Spring 2026
Spring brings ideal conditions for exploring Egypt and Jordan, especially during March and April when mild temperatures make desert travel truly comfortable. Our extended 19-day journeys blend traditional Nile felucca cruising, and overnight camping beneath Wadi Rum's starlit skies. Most travelers choose tours featuring Abu Simbel visits in early morning light, followed by a float in the Dead Sea's mineral-rich waters. The well-crafted itineraries include wading through Wadi Mujib canyon when water levels allow, exploring Petra's hidden paths before peak season and also visiting morning markets with our experienced guide Momo, who gets glowing feedback for facilitating spontaneous local interactions. For a more laid-back experience, the M/S Concerto luxury Nile cruise offers private balconies where guests can observe farmers tending their fields between temple excursions. Many tours incorporate snorkeling at Giftun Island near Hurghada, where spring's clear waters provide excellent reef visibility.

- Summer 2026
Our popular summer tours through Egypt and Jordan blend active morning exploration with restful afternoons, creating an ideal rhythm in the heat. The comprehensive journey spans 19 days, starting at the pyramids in the cooler morning hours before moving to comfortable Nile cruises where you can refresh between temple visits. In Wadi Rum, we time the 4x4 excursions and camel rides around sunrise and sunset, with nights spent in climate-controlled desert camps. Our expert guide Momo knows exactly how to pace each day, scheduling museum visits during peak afternoon heat and leading evening walks through bustling local markets when temperatures fall. Travelers appreciate how the Jordan section includes swimming stops at the Dead Sea, while extended Egypt options feature downtime at Hurghada's Red Sea resorts. The mix of luxury Cairo hotels with pools, traditional felucca sailing on the Nile and guided exploration gives our travelers that perfect summer balance - you'll stay active while having plenty of chances to cool off and relax throughout the journey.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
The fall weather in October and November makes our tours really special, especially the Nile cruise option on the M/S Concerto. You'll get a private balcony to watch local farmers working along the riverbanks between temple visits. A lot of our customers pick the expanded route that adds Istanbul and Cappadocia to Egypt and Jordan - there's nothing quite like floating over Cappadocia's rock formations at sunrise before heading south to see the pyramids. The desert camping in Wadi Rum works perfectly in autumn; the temperatures let you really enjoy the camel rides, stargazing and also the 4x4 rides through the dunes. For those interested in religious history, we've got a route from Mount Sinai through Jordan's biblical sites and finally Jerusalem - the mild weather makes all the walking sections much more comfortable.

Is it safe to travel to Egypt and Jordan?
Look, safety's a top priority in both countries and you'll notice plenty of security around the main tourist spots. Jordan's really stable and known for how welcoming everyone is. Egypt's had some challenges sure but most travelers especially those in organized groups feel totally secure. Just last month we had someone on our 19-day Pyramids Petra Promised Land tour who was nervous at first but ended up telling us they felt completely safe throughout their journey.
When's the best time to check out Egypt and Jordan?
Spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) are really your sweet spots with perfect weather for exploring all those ancient sites. Winter's nice too just pack a jacket for evening time. Summer gets pretty intense especially out in the desert so plan those outdoor activities carefully. One of our travelers Leigh visited in spring and loved how their guide would switch up the schedule to dodge the midday heat.
Should I go with a group tour or book it private?
It really depends on what you're after. Group tours are great for meeting people and usually cost less while private tours let you call the shots and get really personal with the experience. Smaller groups definitely help you dive deeper into the culture just ask our TourRadar guests. Think about your budget how you like to travel and how much freedom you want. The Pyramids Petra Promised Land runs 19 days with up to 32 people while the 2 Weeks Customized Private tour gives you total flexibility with your own private setup.
What cultural tips should I know before visiting?
These are Muslim countries so dressing modestly and being respectful around religious sites really matters. Learn a few Arabic greetings it makes such a difference with locals. Get ready for some friendly haggling in the markets it's part of the experience. Tipping or "baksheesh" is pretty normal for services but heads up you might get some persistent requests in Egypt. One of our budget travelers Maria told us how her Jordanian guide Khalid showed her some amazing local food spots that weren't even on the official schedule these are the kind of cultural insights you get with great guides.
