Itinerary
- Day 1
Marrakech to Zagora
You'll leave Marrakech early and head through the High Atlas Mountains, taking in views of Berber villages scattered across the landscape. The drive takes you to Ntizi Techka village first, then on to Kasbah Telouate, a historical fortress worth walking around. From there, you'll reach Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, which dates back to the 11th century and is on UNESCO's list. After pushing through to Ouarzazate, you'll continue toward Draa Valley with a stop at Agdez Palm Oasis to break up the journey. By evening you'll be in Zagora, where you can explore the remaining Almoravid fortress before settling into your traditional hotel for the night.

Zagora to Erg Chigaga
You'll travel along the Draa River toward Tamegroute, a historic town where one of Morocco's oldest libraries sits waiting to be explored. The route takes you through the quiet village of Mhamid next, then opens up to the Erg Chigaga dunes where your desert camp awaits. After checking in and having time to settle, the late afternoon brings a camel ride out onto the dunes to catch the sunset. You'll head back to camp afterward to relax and take in the desert quiet, spending the evening just absorbing the atmosphere around you.

Erg Chigaga to Tazenakht
This morning starts early so you can see the desert sunrise followed by breakfast. You'll head toward Iriki Lake, which is now dry but used to be a water source supporting bird populations about 60 years ago. From there, you pass through Foum-Zguid, a Berber town with its own character, then stop in Tazenakht where the carpet market is one of the largest you'll find in Morocco. The drive continues through scenic valleys and traditional Berber villages, bringing the tour to a close as you wind through the landscape.
