Reykjavik
You'll arrive in Reykjavik and head to your included hotel. Depending on when you land, there's time to walk around Iceland's capital and get a feel for the city before you settle in for the evening.

- Days 2 - 3
Westfjords
After breakfast, you'll board the Ultramarine and set sail for the Westfjords, a remote region known for dramatic scenery. Zodiac excursions take you through rugged fjords, past waterfalls and colorful beaches. You'll stop at fishing villages like Ísafjörður and possibly Vigur island, where you can learn about Viking maritime history in these small communities.

Denmark Strait
The ship crosses the Denmark Strait toward Greenland, and the Expedition Team presents talks covering Arctic history, wildlife, geology and climate. Throughout the day, experts watch for seabirds and whales, letting you know when sightings happen so you won't miss them.

King Oscar Fjord
You'll navigate into Northeast Greenland National Park and King Oscar Fjord, known for its bright sandstone cliffs. A hike through Skipperdal Valley shows you mineral deposits that paint the hills red and magenta. Later, you can visit Blomsterbugten on Ymer Island and potentially hike to Noa Lake. Eclipse experts David Baron and Michael Zeiler give presentations preparing you for the solar eclipse coming up soon.

King Oscar Fjord
The ship finds the best location along the eclipse path in King Oscar Fjord. From 2:34pm to 4:35pm, you'll experience the total solar eclipse lasting 2 minutes and 17.2 seconds. This Arctic location offers the longest duration of totality anywhere along the eclipse path.

Landmarks King Oscar Fjord - Days 8 - 11
Scoresby Sound
Heading home, you'll explore Scoresby Sound on Greenland's east coast, one of the world's most beautiful fjord systems. The Bear Islands offer channels, steep cliffs and interesting geology. Zodiac cruises and shore visits give you chances to spot muskoxen and see icebergs. You can visit sites like Vikingbukta with its basalt columns and Sydkap, where tundra and ancient Thule settlement remains sit along the coast.

Denmark Strait Return
Sailing back across the Denmark Strait toward Iceland, you'll attend expert presentations, share photos from the eclipse, or book time at the Tundra Spa. The bar serves icy cocktails, and you can ask the Expedition Team questions as they continue watching for wildlife throughout the day.
