What people love about Greenland Tours
- Disko Bay (Includes Return Flight Copenhagen - Kangerlussuaq)
The tour was enjoyable and the Ocean Albatros is an outstanding boat! I thought the tour was a little too long for what was offered. It might be possible in future to reduce it to 5 or 6 days as the settlements visited are very small and there is not much to do if you are not a hiker. Perhaps two settlements could be visited in the one day. The lectures/presentations were generally very good but not all were professionally delivered. I had wanted much more information about the history, culture, and politics of Greenland and we could have begun early, say the second day, with the introduction to Greenlandic language and a few important words. Also, a little more attention to solo travellers like myself would have been appreciated. And may I suggest that the entertainment offerings could be updated in terms of the films available and also add a channel for classical music! I did enjoy my trip, my very first expedition cruise, but there is some fine tuning that can be done to make the experience even more enjoyable.

This was an experience of a lifetime. Challenging but very rewarding.
What our customers ask about Greenland Tours & Trips
What is the best time to visit Greenland for different activities?
Summer brings the warmest temperatures from June through August — perfect timing for your hiking adventures kayaking among icebergs and catching sight of majestic whales. You'll experience the incredible midnight sun when daylight never ends. Winter months from December to March are your best bet for dog sledding and catching the Northern Lights dancing across the sky. If you're looking to avoid crowds spring and fall offer a sweet spot with April-May and September-October giving you a more peaceful experience.
How can I get around Greenland considering its limited road network?
Getting around Greenland mostly means taking to the air with flights connecting you between major towns like Nuuk Ilulissat and Kangerlussuaq. During summer months you can hop on ferries for a scenic journey along the coast linking settlements like Ilulissat and Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island — it's a beautiful way to travel between destinations.
What are some unique cultural experiences I can participate in during my Greenland tour?
You'll want to experience kaffemik — it's this wonderful Greenlandic tradition where people gather for coffee cake and great conversation. The Greenland Expedition tour in Ilulissat lets you join right in. Local museums in Nuuk and Ilulissat open windows into Inuit history art and traditions. One traveler's highlight was visiting a native Inuit Greenlander's home seeing authentic narwhal tusks and handmade sealskin clothing — you can have a similar experience on the Amazing Days in Ilulissat tour.
Which locations in Greenland offer a blend of cultural and natural attractions?
Ilulissat's really special — this UNESCO site gives you the spectacular Ilulissat Icefjord plus authentic cultural experiences. The Amazing Days in Ilulissat tour takes you on a sunset cruise by the Icefjord and to Sermermiut an ancient Inuit settlement. In Nuuk the capital you'll find modern city life mixing with historical sites and museums showcasing Inuit heritage. Join the Greenland Expedition tour for a guided walk through town and chat with a local storyteller. Qeqertarsuaq on Disko Island reached by ferry shows off volcanic formations hot springs and life above the Arctic Circle. The Greenland Expedition includes your ferry ride there and a hike to Disko Mountain Lodge.
