Itinerary
- Day 1
Halifax
You'll arrive in Halifax and get settled into your accommodation in the city's central area. This evening there's a welcome meeting where you'll connect with your tour guide and other travelers. The rest of your first day is open for you to walk around and get a feel for the Atlantic coast vibe on your own.
- Day 2
Halifax to Moncton
Head along the Bay of Fundy coastline where the tides here are the highest in the world. You'll see the Joggins Fossil Cliffs, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with fossils from 300 million years ago during the Coal Age. Later there's a lobster dinner on a lobster boat in New Brunswick, and then you'll drive to Moncton for the night.

Moncton to Saint John
Check out the Hopewell Rocks with their distinctive flowerpot shapes created by those massive tides. You'll travel through Fundy National Park to reach Saint John, and there's a city tour included that shows you the Reversing Falls, where the Bay of Fundy tides actually make the Saint John River reverse direction twice daily. You'll stay two nights here.

- Day 4
Saint John to St. Andrews by-the-Sea and return
Take a day trip to St. Andrews by-the-Sea and have time to explore the town at your own pace. In the afternoon, there's a boat tour for whale watching (weather permitting) where you might see minke whales, humpbacks, or white-sided dolphins. If conditions are right and depending on the season, you could spot endangered North Atlantic right whales. You'll head back to Saint John for the evening.

Saint John to Digby
Take the ferry back to Nova Scotia and arrive in Digby, known as the scallop capital of the world. Your hotel has nice views looking out over the Annapolis Basin on the Bay of Fundy. You'll have the rest of the day to relax and check out the local Acadian culture at your own pace.

Digby to Halifax
Explore the Annapolis Valley where French Acadians settled at Grand Pré in the early 1600s, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll learn about the history and stories of the Land of Evangeline, then stop at a local winery for a tour and tasting. After that you'll drive back to Halifax for a two-night stay.

Halifax to Peggy's Cove, Lunenburg, and return
Start the day at Peggy's Cove, a fishing village where you'll have breakfast overlooking one of the world's most photographed lighthouses. From there, head along the South Shore to Lunenburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Town famous for its Grand Banks fishing schooner fleets. You'll walk through this well-preserved colonial settlement and visit the Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic to learn about the town's maritime history.

Halifax to Prince Edward Island, Charlottetown
Visit the Millbrook Cultural and Heritage Centre to learn about the Mi'kmaq people. Then you'll cross the Confederation Bridge, the world's longest continuous multi-span bridge, to reach Prince Edward Island. Check in to your accommodation in Charlottetown for two nights and catch a theatre performance by local entertainers at the Confederation Centre of the Arts that evening (performances may change based on the schedule).

Charlottetown to Prince Edward Island National Park and return
You have a leisurely morning in Charlottetown, the birthplace of Canada, or you can join an optional walking tour. In the afternoon, head to the North Shore of the island to see the red cliffs, white beaches, sand dunes, and green fields at Prince Edward Island National Park. Visit the Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place, the setting that inspired Lucy Maud Montgomery's novels. By evening you'll have a traditional hall-style lobster supper with real Maritime hospitality.

Charlottetown to Baddeck
Take the ferry across the Northumberland Strait back to Nova Scotia, then continue to Cape Breton Island via the Canso Causeway. The area's sometimes called the Scotland of North America. When you arrive, there's a boat tour included on the beautiful Bras d'Or Lake. You'll settle in the charming village of Baddeck for the next two nights.

Baddeck to Cape Breton Highlands National Park and return
Today you'll drive the Cabot Trail, one of North America's most scenic routes, as it winds around Cape Breton's rocky northern shore and climbs up to the plateaus of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. There are scenic lookouts along the way with great views of the rugged coastline. You'll also visit the Alexander Graham Bell National Historic Site to learn about his accomplishments and his life on the island.

Baddeck to Port aux Basques
Explore the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site, which is a reconstruction of about one-fifth of the original 1744 New France settlement. Then head to North Sydney and board the Marine Atlantic ferry for an overnight journey to Port aux Basques, your entry point to Newfoundland.

Port aux Basques to Port au Choix
You'll disembark the ferry this morning and drive through the Codroy Valley and Gros Morne National Park, which you'll explore more later in the trip. Head to Port au Choix, a fishing community where you'll learn about the ancient cultures that have lived on the Port au Choix Peninsula for the last 5,500 years on Newfoundland's northwest coast.

Port au Choix to L'Anse au Clair
Board the ferry from St. Barbe across the Strait of Belle Isle this morning to reach Labrador. Visit Red Bay National Historic Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where Basques operated a whaling station back in the 16th century. You'll spend the night in Labrador.

L'Anse au Clair to St. Anthony
Return to Newfoundland and travel to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, the first site in the world recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll learn about the Vikings who were in this area over a thousand years ago. Then head to your accommodation in St. Anthony for the night.

- Day 16
St. Anthony to Cow Head
Start with a morning whale-watching boat tour off the coast of St. Anthony (weather permitting), where you'll get nice views of the coastline and possibly spot minke whales, humpbacks, or white-sided dolphins. Head to Cow Head in Gros Morne National Park for a two-night stay. If you're here in June or early July, you might see icebergs as large as the Titanic.

Cow Head to Gros Morne National Park and return
Explore Gros Morne National Park with a scenic boat tour on Bonne Bay where bald eagles are frequently spotted near the deep fjord waters. Visit the Tablelands, an impressive flat-topped mountain made of rock that normally exists deep within the Earth's mantle. You'll stay a second night in Cow Head.

Have your camera ready for your final drive through Gros Morne National Park. You'll be dropped at Deer Lake regional airport where your tour ends.
