Halifax
You'll arrive at Halifax International Airport and make your way to your hotel in the city center. This evening, you'll meet up with your travel group at a welcome reception to connect with everyone before the trip kicks off.

Halifax to Port-aux-Basques
The drive takes you through Truro and Antigonish, then across the Canso Causeway to Cape Breton Island. From North Sydney, you'll board a Marine Atlantic ferry for an overnight crossing to Port-aux-Basques in Newfoundland, so you can settle in and relax on the water.

Port-aux-Basques to Port au Choix
You'll drive through Cordroy Valley with the Long Range Mountains and Anguille Mountains framing the route, plus Atlantic Ocean views along the way. Then it's through Gros Morne National Park and into Port au Choix, a working fishing community where you'll spend the night.

Port au Choix to L'Anse au Clair
At St. Barbe, you'll take a ferry across the Strait of Belle Isle into Labrador. The stop at Red Bay National Historic Site shows you remains of a 16th-century Basque whaling station, and then you'll head to L'Anse au Clair for the evening.

Labrador to St. Anthony
You'll cross back into Newfoundland and travel to L'Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site, an archaeological location marking the earliest known European settlement in North America. The UNESCO World Heritage Site has Viking artifacts that help explain how Vikings actually lived.

The drive takes you through central Newfoundland toward Gander. You'll check into your hotel for a quiet evening to rest and recharge.

Gander to Clarenville
A scenic coastal route along Notre Dame Bay gets you to Twillingate, where you'll check out the Long Point Lighthouse and a local co-op at the island's tip. Back in Gander, you'll visit the North Atlantic Aviation Museum before heading to Clarenville for the night.
