Lisbon
You'll arrive in Lisbon and head to your luxury hotel to settle in. This evening, you'll meet your Tour Director and the other guests for a welcome drink that kicks off your time in Portugal.

Lisbon
Start with a guided tour through Lisbon's Belém district, visiting the Jerónimos Monastery and the iconic Belém Tower. You'll try Portuguese pastéis de nata and see the Padrão dos Descobrimentos monument, then check out Rossio square. The afternoon is yours to shop or ride Tram 28 around the city.

Pinhão
You'll cruise through the Douro Valley with views of steep riverbanks and terraced vineyards. By afternoon, you'll dock in Pinhão, a charming village surrounded by vineyards famous for Port wine. Explore the riverside train station with hand-painted azulejos tiles and try painting your own at a workshop.

Pinhão
Visit the charming village of Provesende perched on a plateau with great views of the rolling landscape. You'll wander through narrow streets, check out the church, find the old bakery, see traditional handicrafts being made, and explore the historic manor house Morgadio da Calçada where you'll taste bola.

Salamanca or Freixo de Espada à Cinta
You have options today with Scenic Freechoice. One path takes you to Salamanca for the full day, where you can walk through the golden sandstone architecture the city's known for, check out two cathedrals, and browse the local market before grabbing lunch whenever you feel like it. The other option heads to the small village of Freixo de Espada à Cinta instead, where you'll see the silk museum and taste regional products at a local estate. Either way, you're back on the ship for lunch.

You'll wake up in Pocinho, a historic village that became the Douro Railway terminus back in 1887. Pick between two excursions: the Côa Valley Museum, which sits at the world's largest open-air Paleolithic rock art site with prehistoric workshops, or head to Freixo Numão and Casa Painova estate to learn how they grow almonds traditionally and sample local products. That afternoon, the ship cruises toward Régua, a major riverside town that opens up the Douro Valley wine country with its terraced vineyards and historic Port wine wineries.

Start in Régua with breakfast brought to your suite if you want. Three Freechoice excursions are available: visit the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Remedies in Lamego with its famous blue and white tiled staircase and Baroque design, kayak along the Pinhão River, or tour the impressive Baroque Mateus Palace. Later this afternoon you'll sail back to Porto, where a classical music concert waits inside the 13th-century São Francisco Church.
