Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Kathmandu
You'll land at Tribhuvan International Airport and head to your hotel for check-in. If your flight arrives in the afternoon, there's time to wander through Thamel, Kathmandu's main tourist area with its mix of shops, restaurants and local energy. The evening includes a welcome dinner along with a briefing about what to expect on your trek ahead.

Kathmandu Valley UNESCO Sites to Pokhara
After breakfast you'll visit several UNESCO World Heritage sites around Kathmandu Valley: Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, Swayambhunath, and Patan Durbar Square. Later that day you'll fly to Pokhara and get settled at your hotel. By late afternoon you can take a boat out on Fewa Lake with views of the Himalayan range in the distance.

Pokhara to Marpha via Rupse Waterfall
You'll start right after breakfast in a 4WD jeep heading through mountain roads. After about 3 hours you'll reach Beni and enter Mustang region alongside the Kali Gandaki River. On the way you'll stop at Rupse Waterfalls (310 meters), then drive through villages including Lete, Kobang, and Tukuche before arriving in Marpha for the night.

Marpha to Chhuksang via Jomsom, Dhumba Lake, Kagbeni and Muktinath
The morning is spent exploring Marpha's old houses, apple orchards, and the local monastery. From there you'll drive to Jomsom, then continue to Dhumba Lake at Mt. Nilgiri's base. You'll visit Kagbeni spiritual center and Muktinath, a holy site for both Hindu and Buddhist pilgrims with 108 water sprouts. The day ends in Upper Mustang at Chhuksang.

Chhuksang to Lomanthang via High Passes
You'll drive through sandy rock landscape and winding roads passing Samar, Syangbochen, and Ghiling. Two high passes come up: Nyi La Pass at 4,010 meters and Ghami La Pass at 3,765 meters. Next is the village of Charang, then Lomanthang, the capital of Upper Mustang. After lunch you'll see the Five-storied Jhong Cave with its 40 rooms and visit Lowo Nyiphug Namdrol Norbuling Monastic School.

Lomanthang to Tsarang via Royal Palace and Monasteries
You'll spend time in Lomanthang exploring the old royal palace and traditional houses to see Upper Mustang's history firsthand. Then you'll drive to Luri Gompa, which sits 100 meters up on steep rock cliffs. After that comes Lo Ghekar monastery from the 8th century, one of the oldest monasteries around. You'll return to Tsarang for the night.

Tsarang to Samar via Ghami and Chungsi Cave
After breakfast you'll head to Ghami village to check out what's left of this former rest stop. The route takes you through Ghiling and Syangbochen to Chungsi Cave, an 8th-century Buddhist site where Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated. You might need to hire a horse to reach the cave. Later you'll cross Yamada La and Bhena La passes and settle in Samar for the night.

Samar to Tatopani via Lower Mustang
Today you'll drive through easier terrain with chances to stop and take photos. You'll pass through Chele, Chhuksang, Tangbe, Kagbeni, Jomsom, and Marpha on your way to Tatopani, a settlement known for its natural hot springs where you can relax and recover from your mountain travels.

Landmarks/POIs Tatopani - Day 9
Tatopani to Pokhara
You'll have a relaxed 5-hour drive back to Pokhara with Mt. Dhaulagiri visible along the way. Once there, you'll check into your 3-star hotel and can explore the lakeside market in the evening if you're not too tired from the drive.

Pokhara to Kathmandu
You'll fly or drive from Pokhara back to Kathmandu and return to your 3-star hotel for the night.

Departure from Kathmandu
This is your last day in Nepal. Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks staff will help you pack and arrange your transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport. If you're interested, you can book additional treks like Everest Base Camp or the Annapurna Circuit before heading home.
