14 Days in Nepal, incl. Kathmandu and Everest Base Camp
A mountain adventure through Nepal links 11 key destinations including Lukla, Namche Bazaar, and Everest Base Camp. The route crosses dramatic valleys, reveals Buddhist monasteries, and showcases four 8000m peaks while offering traditional teahouse stays along ancient trading routes.
- Days 1-2
Kathmandu (1,350m)
- Days 2-3
Lukla (2,804m) to Phakding (2,610m)
Take a 40-minute flight to Lukla's Tenzing-Hillary Airport. The landing is exciting but completely safe. It's a 4-5 hour trek to Phakding where you'll cross suspension bridges and pass Buddhist monuments. "The initial descent was steady but the views of Dudh Koshi River were already spectacular," one guest noted.
- Days 3-4
Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,441m)
This challenging 5-6 hour climb involves significant elevation gain. You'll cross several bridges before a steep climb to Namche. This lively Sherpa town has everything from internet cafes to gear shops. "Stock up on snacks here," advised one trekker, "prices increase significantly as you go higher."
- Days 4-5
Acclimatization in Namche
- Days 5-7
Namche to Tengboche (3,860m) to Dingboche (4,350m)
- Days 8-9
Lobuche (4,900m) to Gorak Shep (5,180m)
- Days 9-10
Everest Base Camp (5,365m) & Kala Patthar (5,555m)
- Days 11-14
Descent via Pangboche and Namche
Going down is quicker but still demands attention. Watch your step on steep sections. Enjoy a final celebration in Lukla before flying to Kathmandu. "The sense of accomplishment hitting base camp was incredible," one guest reflected, "but the journey itself - the villages, monasteries, and Sherpa culture - was equally rewarding."

- Day 9
Thorong La Pass (5,416m)
Start early around 4 AM for the most challenging day. It's a steep 4-5 hour climb to the pass followed by a 1,600m descent to Muktinath. If traveling October-March bring microspikes for icy conditions.
- Days 10-11
Muktinath to Jomsom (2,600m)
Start with the sacred Muktinath temple before heading down into the dramatic Kali Gandaki gorge. A previous trekker suggests: "The wind picks up strongly in the afternoon through the gorge - start early and bring a good windbreaker."
- Day 12
Jomsom to Pokhara
Drive 5-6 hours to Pokhara. Spend your afternoon relaxing by Phewa Lake or getting a massage. You can also take a 30-minute flight instead to avoid the bumpy drive.
- Days 13-14
Pokhara to Kathmandu
Take the 6-7 hour drive back to Kathmandu or opt for a flight. On your final day head to the airport at least 3 hours before departure. Book afternoon flights in case of delays on domestic routes.
What people love about 2-week Nepal tours
- Everest Base Camp Trekking
Nov 10th-23rd. Sherpa Trekking is amazing! Firstly, Ram, who runs everything, takes care of everything and makes logistics so easy. From airport pickup to accommodation setup to resolving any issues I had that weren't any doing of the company's (airline lost my luggage) - he did it all! I'm not sure if Ram sleeps because there wasn't a time of day or night I couldn't get ahold of him. Secondly, my guide, Ngatemba "Temba" Sherpa, and porter, Tendi were incredible. Temba knows those mountains like the back of his hand (or should I say soles of his feet?), including the names and heights of all of them! He ensures to keep a slow and steady pace as to not tire you out too quickly. He always stopped for quick breaks at the top of every steep climb. The amount of summits he's done is crazy. You can tell, even in his mid to late 20s, he's already an expert climber. As far as the accommodations, the lodges were decent (just remember you're in a developing country). Don't forget - there's no heat! So the nights and mornings are FREEZING! I highly recommend borrowing the company's sleeping bag because it was super warm! Also, bring lots of layers. I used my midweight layers the most during the day and while sleeping in the sleeping bag. The lodge in Gorakshep was less than desirable, lol. But I was warned previously that they're all like that at the top. At each lodge, you can buy wifi, phone charging, toilet paper, and hot showers. I love Indian food, so I really enjoyed the food in Nepal. It is the same or close in my opinion. There were other options at the lodges such as pancakes, spaghetti, Asian noodles. You can buy bottled water and snacks at every lodge too. I definitely recommend doing HIIT training and stair climber workouts prior to going. Also, get Diamox/altitude meds. I saw many people have to turn back because of altitude sickness. The oxygen gets very thin and it gets harder and harder to breathe past 14,000ft. Bring cold medicine too. CONS: 1. The treatment of the animals was extremely hard for me to see as an animal lover. I broke down several times. 2. THE COLD! Getting ready for bed, out of the shower, and getting out of bed in the morning was brutal. 3. Not much to see at Base Camp this time of year besides the large rock that says "Everest Base Camp" :). But it is just the achievement of getting there that's important! The country is absolutely beautiful. The trek was challenging in the best ways. If anyone has any questions at all, you can reach me on IG jpaigeh05! I recommend Sherpa Trekking & Temba Sherpa (& porter Tendi too!) 100x over. 10/10!!
- Everest Base Camp Trek
Compliments to Uma Holidays Travels and Tours for an amazing trek to Mount Everest. Our Sherpa Ram Sherpa was amazing and so attentive to all of our needs.Ram shared all of his knowledge with us along the way and never hesitated to give us the encouragement to keep moving on. Can’t imagine trekking without Ram and our porter Pasang who also was nothing less than fantastic on our trip. I will be recommending these to wonderful men to my friends for a trek in the future. Cheers, Suff
- Annapurna Circuit Trekking
Highly Recommended this company!! I just returned from the Annapurna Circuit trek. I can't express my gratitude enough for their services. I was extremely impressed with the depth of their knowledge- not only the physical aspects of the trek, but also their knowledge of each village. They showed me many interesting sights that I could have easily missed had I been with someone less knowledgeable. They also had good insight on each village and its inhabitants.
