Itinerary

  1. Day 1

    Cologne

You'll arrive in Cologne with the rest of the day ahead of you before the ship leaves at 18:00. That gives you time to walk around and see the cathedral and other sights the city's known for. Grab some lunch at a local spot, check out the riverfront, or just wander the old town streets. Make sure to head back to the ship with enough time to get settled before departure.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations, embarkation snack)

    Optional Activities

    • Discover attractions in the cathedral city
    Landmarks/POIs
    Cologne Cathedral
  2. Day 2

    Nijmegen

The ship docks in Nijmegen at 07:00, and you have until 16:00 to explore. This is the Netherlands' oldest city, so there's plenty of history to see between the old buildings and town squares. You'll find a mix of historic sites and beaches along the river if you want to relax. Grab breakfast somewhere in town, spend the afternoon checking out what interests you, then head back to the ship before it leaves at 16:00.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations)

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Nijmegen's historical sites
    • Visit city beaches
    • Discover the vibrant city center
    Landmarks/POIs
    Nijmegen
  3. Day 3

    Düsseldorf

Arriving at 03:00 in Düsseldorf means an early start if you want to make the most of your time before 19:00 departure. This is a big city with good museums, theaters, and modern architecture mixed in with older neighborhoods. You could sleep a bit longer and still have a full day to explore, or get out early and see more. Plenty of places to eat and drink throughout the city, and you'll have time to check out different areas before boarding again.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations)

    Optional Activities

    • Visit museums and theatres

    • Discover the city's cultural attractions
    Landmarks/POIs

  4. Day 4

    Koblenz

You'll arrive in Koblenz at 10:00, and this is where you really start seeing the Rhine landscape change. The old town has palaces and grand townhouses worth walking through, plus smaller streets with character. The ship stays docked here, so you can explore without worrying about time pressure, though there's a departure scheduled later. Watch for the view of Deutsches Eck where two rivers meet - it's right from the ship or easy to find from town.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations)

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Koblenz's palaces and stately homes
    • Wander through narrow lanes and romantic corners
    • View the Deutsches Eck headland from the ship
    Landmarks/POIs
    Deutsches Eck
  5. Day 5

    Loreley Valley

Your morning is spent in Koblenz, so after breakfast you can head back into the old town if there's anything you missed yesterday, or just find a café and relax. The ship leaves at 16:00 and heads toward the Loreley Valley, arriving around 17:00. This part of the Rhine is different - the scenery gets more dramatic as you cruise through. You'll see steep vineyards and rocky formations from the ship as it moves upriver.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations)

    Optional Activities

    • Further exploration of Koblenz

  6. Day 6

    Rüdesheim

The ship arrives in Mainz at 00:30, so you'll have the morning and early afternoon to walk around this 2,000-year-old city before boarding again. The historic center has old churches and museums if that's your thing, plus regular shops and restaurants. You'll head back to the ship with time to rest, then continue cruising to Rüdesheim, arriving at 19:00. Rüdesheim's famous for its narrow wine street, so after you board and settle in, you might go back into town for dinner.

    Meals
Breakfast (Comprehensive breakfast buffet with live-cooking stations), Lunch (Comprehensive lunch buffet with live-cooking stations), Dinner (Comprehensive dinner buffet with live-cooking stations)

    Optional Activities

    • Explore Mainz's historic sites

The morning is yours in Rüdesheim to explore the Drosselgasse, which is the pedestrian lane packed with wine taverns and shops. Beyond that there are cultural sites and historic buildings to see if you want to get away from the main tourist street. You'll have until 12:00 to walk around, grab coffee or a late breakfast, and just take in the town before heading back to the ship for the return journey.

The cathedral is right there, and if you haven't had enough of Cologne yet, there are museums and the riverside to see. Or you can just gather your things and head out. It's your call what happens after you get off the ship.

Service on board was excellent! Waiters and room service were great. But entertainment wise was rather poor. Cruise was was advertised as German and English mostly German was used. Out of 38 minutes in German, English was use for 3 minutes?? WE had to ask for some translation.. The Cruise administration and presentation on adverting are very misleading. Premium All-Inclusive is just a misleading name and I think it is not the right name for a package!!! Even to have a reserved seats for meals we were asked for daily fee!

This review is about a 7-day river cruise, not a guided tour. The Moselle River is a scenic delight, with vineyard-covered hillsides, charming villages, castles and chateaux. Our boat was the A-Rosa Silva. About 180 passengers. All meals buffet style. We ate very well. The wines included in Premium all-inclusive were mediocre. We knew from a previous A-Rosa cruise that most passengers are German and non English speaking. We missed not having anyone to talk with other than one couple with whom we sometimes shared a table at meal times. The boat did not have very effective AC. The dining room could get pretty uncomfortable. We sometimes took our plates up on deck, and that was lovely. We learned to keep our cabin shades down and curtains closed during the day when we were on the sunny side.

Very good but be prepared to have very few English speaking people on the cruise
