  1. Day 1

    Paris

    You'll arrive in Paris with the rest of the day to yourself. Wander around at your own pace and take in the city's architecture, food scene, and shops. There's plenty of time to get oriented and start exploring whatever catches your interest, whether that's galleries, neighborhoods, or just finding a good café to settle into.

  2. Day 2

    Paris

    Join a guided tour that covers the Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Opéra Garnier, and Champs-Élysées. After that, you have free time to explore on your own. Check out cafés around the city, head to Montmartre to see the Basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, browse through shops, or visit some of the literary cafés Paris is known for.

    Paris to Beaune to Chalon-sur-Saône

    Start with a high-speed train from Paris to Dijon, then drive to Beaune. You'll visit the Hôtel-Dieu, a 15th-century building with Van der Weyden's Last Judgment painting inside. From there, continue to Chalon-sur-Saône where you board your river ship and head to Tournus for the night.

  4. Day 4

    Tournus

Then choose between biking through the city's architectural district by bridges and riverside paths, or taking a guided tour of Fourviès Hill, the Old Town's medieval streets, and Place des Terreaux. In the evening, there's a WWII and French Resistance lecture followed by live entertainment after dinner.

Return to the ship for a food and wine pairing dinner with your Sommelier. Later, the ship cruises toward Tournon.

After lunch, there's an onboard wine and cheese tasting as you sail to Viviers. You'll explore Viviers on a late afternoon walking tour, seeing its Romanesque cathedral and Old Town. Evening cruise heads to Avignon with live entertainment.

    We would like to thank our Statesman Attendee that took care of all our needs in our room 107. He was friendly and did an amazing job, Marisio our waiter served us with the highest respect and friendliness. Over all Avalon have very good staff and always a smile- nothing too much trouble. The ship was so clean, food was spectacular. We had a surprise group of singers Gwen and Charles who brought great entertainment. The other entertainer was amazing. Loved the top deck BBQ. We met lots of new friends aboard. Thank you Avalon for a trip well executed.
