Highland Experience provided a stellar experience. The guide, Rob Hall, was great, informative and had an amazing personality that kept us all laughing. The hotel was fabulous. And given the days were windy and wet it was nice to have a good place to return to at the end of the day. The Island of Lewis & Harris was beautiful. I’m already hoping to return to see Shetland and Orkney.

Excellent, knowledgeable driver who looked after us really well. We enjoyed his commentary and music and appreciated the effort he put into making the trip so lovely. The very full itinerary took us wonderful places and historic sites and stopped at just the right moment at a visitor centre or equivalent for a leg stretch, a walk or an easy lunch. All round we thought the experience was wonderful.

I was sold the moment James greeted us and started his tour with us. He has such a lovely personality and sold me on Scotland as the best place to visit in the world. It was the most wonderful tour ever. He was exceptional and even when I return to Scotland, i fear no one will never match up to his standards. I think his tour was unsurpassed. My grandson was even captivated by James stories and tourr stops which says a tremendous amount in James favor considering how difficult it is to keep a 16 year old captivated!

Great tour and excellent guide who know his history and culture. We heard great Scottish music en route as well. Loved the scenery. The B and B we stayed in had lovely hosts and was spotless, but it was like stepping back into the 1970,s in terms of decor, furniture and beds creaked! Good breakfast. Nothing to do in Stornaway especially on a Sunday.

Unfortunately, this tour does not run in January as it will only run during the spring and summer months. We do have other options such as a 3-Day Skye Tour departing from Edinburgh if that would be of interest to you?

All of our non-private tours require that all passengers are over the age of 3. If you wish to travel with children under the age of 3 I suggest that you book a private tour with us.

Does the bedroom have its own private bath, or is it a shared bathroom down the hall? Is the B&B room in a small hotel or a private house? What types of restaurant & food options are available for lunch & dinner?

    • Highland Experience ToursOperatorWritten January 2024

All accommodation would have their own private bathrooms, so you wouldn't have to share with the other passengers. Regarding restaurant options, there is a wide variety available but I would suggest booking in advance, as it books out very quickly in the summer season. Some suggestions would include; The Royal hotel and caladh inn hotel, located in the over night stop in stornoway.

Could you please tell us what the size and weight of their luggage is? – Hopefully, we will be able to store it on the bus. Dun Carloway Broch is free to visit.
