- Day 1
Antananarivo
You'll land in Madagascar and work through customs, then your driver guide picks you up at the airport. From there it's a transfer to your hotel near the airport where you can check in and settle in for the night.

Antananarivo to Morondava
This morning you fly west to Morondava and head to your hotel. Later in the afternoon, you'll catch the sunset views from the hotel as the light starts fading over the landscape.

- Day 3
Morondava to Bekopaka
Early start before heading to Kirindy for a 1 hour hike through the forest where you search for lemurs and fossa. After that you cross the Tsiribihina River by boat to Belo sur Tsiribihina, then continue north by 4x4 to your hotel in Bekopaka.

Bekopaka
Spend the day at Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park checking out the dramatic karst landscape with its stone forests. You'll walk through wetlands and forest areas among limestone structures looking for lemurs, birds, bats, and reptiles throughout the day.

Bekopaka to Morondava
You have a long road trip ahead, 200 km taking about 9 hours back to Morondava. Stop at Belo sur Tsiribihina to boat across the Tsiribihina River again, and then in the late afternoon you'll stop at Avenue of the Baobabs to watch the sunset. After that you'll continue to Morondava for check-in.

Morondava to Belo sur Mer
Drive from Morondava to Belo sur Mer, 110 km which takes about 4 hours. Check in at your hotel and you'll have the afternoon free. This fishing village is home to Vezo and Sakalava peoples, so you can stroll around and see their traditional way of life and their dugout boats.

Belo sur Mer
Your day is free to spend on the beach relaxing on the soft sand. You can swim in turquoise waters, hunt for shells, or just sit in the sun. The area has intact coral reefs and lots of marine life to see if you go in the water.

Belo sur Mer to Morombe
Early departure from Belo sur Mer heading to Morombe through Manja, a 280 km drive taking about 10 hours. Along the way you'll see baobab trees, savannahs, dry forests, and the Mangoky River with breaks to stretch your legs. You'll arrive in Morombe and check into your hotel by evening.

Morombe to Ambatomilo
Transfer south through Andavadaoka to Ambatomilo on a sandy trail, 100 km taking about 4.5 hours. After checking in, if you have energy left you can try a zebu cart ride through the village, go fishing with local fishermen, or paddle a canoe out to rocky islands for birding.

Ambatomilo
Today you rest and recover from all those long drives. If underwater activities interest you, this is your last chance for diving or whale watching. You can rent equipment to explore the sea, swim alongside tropical fish and turtles if conditions are good.

Ambatomilo to Toliara
Transfer to Toliara takes 160 km and about 6 hours with stops to break things up. You'll visit Salary Bay and the coastal town of Ifaty to see Madagascar's west coastline. Check into your hotel in Toliara before dark, and if time allows you can walk around local streets and check out the seashell crafts market near Avenue Gallieni.

Toliara to Ranohira
Drive to Ranohira, 225 km taking about 5 hours. On the way you'll visit Zombitse-Vohibasia National Park which sits between dry and moist forests with baobabs, orchids, medicinal plants, and 8 lemur species including Hubbard's sportive lemur found nowhere else. Continue through Ilakaka to Ranohira for check-in. If there's time, catch the sunset at Isalo Window sandstone formation before dinner.

Ranohira
Explore Isalo National Park with its stacked red sandstone layers across desert-like terrain created back in the Jurassic Period. Walk through canyon forest looking for Verreaux's sifakas, red-fronted lemurs, and rare endemic animals. Bird watchers might spot Benson's rock thrush with its orange belly and dusty blue feathers. You'll head back to your hotel after the visit.

Ranohira to Ranomafana
Head northeast to Ranomafana through Anja Community Reserve and the town of Ambalavao. At Anja you'll see over 400 ring-tailed lemurs with their distinctive white and black tails. After checking into your hotel in Ranomafana, go on an evening walk with your guide to track nocturnal lemurs, frogs, chameleons, and the aye-aye lemur when darkness falls.

Ranomafana
Morning exploration of Ranomafana National Park takes you into lush rainforests on mountainous slopes with waterfalls and streams. Walk hidden trails with a local park guide tracking playful lemurs and small creatures. You'll see acrobatic indri, gentle bamboo lemurs, blue coua birds, and giraffe-necked weevils. Head back to your hotel late afternoon with plenty of photos and memories.

Ranomafana to Antsirabe
Leave Ranomafana via RN7 road heading to Antsirabe, Madagascar's highest city. You'll stopover in Ambositra, known for woodwork and the Zafimaniry people's UNESCO-recognized craftsmanship. Then continue north to Antsirabe for the night.

- Day 17
Antsirabe to Antananarivo
Drive back to Tana, 166 km taking about 4.5 hours. Once you arrive, visit the Royal Hill of Ambohimanga, one of Madagascar's three UNESCO heritage sites. The royal complex has the King's Palace, tombs, and sacrificial structures built for Merina kings who ruled most of Madagascar during the 16th and 17th centuries. The lookout offers views of surrounding plains and rice fields. Transfer to your hotel after.
