Great Rift Valley to Maasai Mara
The route takes you through the Great Rift Valley on the way to Maasai Mara Reserve. You'll board a safari vehicle early in the morning, then head out for an afternoon wildlife drive in one of Kenya's top safari destinations.

Maasai Mara
You'll spend the morning on another wildlife spotting safari in the Maasai Mara. The afternoon is yours to relax and rest back at camp.

Maasai Mara to Lake Nakuru
After an early departure from camp in your 4x4 safari vehicle, you'll meet up with the group at Café Ubuntu for a 3-course farm-to-table lunch. From there, you'll head out for another afternoon wildlife drive around the area.

Lake Nakuru to Eldoret

Kenya to Uganda Border Crossing
You'll cross into Uganda and travel toward Kampala, the country's capital. You'll arrive in the late afternoon and settle in for the night.

Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi
During the drive from Kampala to Lake Bunyonyi, you'll cross the equator. Once you arrive, you'll have free time to check out the area and can swim in the lake if you'd like.

Mountain Gorilla Trek
You'll head into Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for a mountain gorilla trek. A park ranger will guide you through volcanic jungle forests as you search for these gorillas in the wild. Be ready for a challenging hike that can vary in length and how difficult it is.

Lake Bunyonyi
The whole day at Lake Bunyonyi is free for you to do what you want. Options include swimming, hiking, canoeing, bird watching, or taking a motorboat tour. By evening, the group comes together at the lodge to relax. Note: Some group members might do the gorilla trek today if they didn't go on Day 8.

Lake Bunyonyi to Kalinzu Forest Reserve
You'll drive through the Ugandan countryside toward Kalinzu Forest Reserve in the northern part of the country. The reserve sits next to Queen Elizabeth National Park and has different landscapes for watching wildlife. The afternoon is yours to do as you please.

Kalinzu Forest Reserve to Lake Mburo
You'll get an early start for a chimpanzee tracking tour in Kalinzu Forest with a ranger. After that, you'll visit a tea plantation and then head to Lake Mburo. You can either book an afternoon boat cruise or take a walk and explore the local area on your own.

You'll cross the equator again heading back to Uganda, one of the few places where you can do this on land. The group will stop for lunch at AidChild Café & Gallery, then continue on to Jinja, arriving in the evening.

Jinja
Your schedule in Jinja is completely open. You can explore the city on your own or hang out with other travelers. There's a good range of outdoor and adventure activities to choose from if you want to do something.

This is mostly a travel day between Uganda and Kenya, so it's a chance to catch up on sleep. You'll arrive at the campsite near Eldoret in the evening and spend the night camping under the stars.

Eldoret to Nairobi
You'll travel through Kenyan countryside on the way to Nairobi. Along the way, you can watch the scenery, listen to music, take naps, or chat with your group. Lunch and dinner stops happen at your own expense.

Arusha to Serengeti National Park
You're heading to the Serengeti, one of Africa's most famous national parks. Traveling from Arusha, you'll begin a 3-day, 2-night safari excursion in a specialized 7-seat 4x4 vehicle with your first wildlife drive through the park.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation Area
After a final morning safari in the Serengeti, you'll continue to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, which is known for great wildlife viewing. You'll set up camp near the crater rim in the late afternoon.

Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
You'll descend to the crater floor for one last safari surrounded by steep walls. After that, you'll drive back to Arusha in your 4x4 vehicles. There's a stop in Mto wa Mbu for a cultural walk through this rural town, and you'll share a traditional lunch with local community members.

Arusha to Dar es Salaam
You'll leave Arusha early in a private vehicle headed toward Dar es Salaam. Watch the Tanzanian countryside roll by and look for glimpses of the Indian Ocean. You'll spend the night in this port town before heading to Zanzibar's island beaches.

Dar es Salaam to Zanzibar
You'll catch the morning ferry to Zanzibar's island beaches. After arriving, you'll have the rest of the day to enjoy the sandy shores and relax. Later, your CEO will take you on an orientation walk through Stone Town.

Stone Town to Jambiani
You'll explore Zanzibar's center on your own, wandering the narrow streets and checking out the squares. You can try food from street vendors if you'd like. The group will then travel to Jambiani on the other side of the island for the next few days.
