Pucon
Based in Pucon, you have options for activities depending on what appeals to you. Whitewater rafting, water sports, horse riding, and hiking are all available to organize from here. After a few days of doing what you want, you'll head east and cross into Argentina through the Andes using mountain passes that offer great views. From there you continue to Bariloche, a ski resort town with hiking trails and an active nightlife scene.

Patagonia Region
Travel south into Argentina's Patagonia region, moving through grasslands that seem to go on forever before reaching Los Glaciares National Park. Perito Moreno Glacier dominates the landscape at nearly 200 feet high. Later you'll head to Torres del Paine National Park to see the dramatic granite peaks, with the option to book the W-Trek in advance or do shorter day hikes without planning ahead. The journey continues south to Tierra del Fuego, then a ferry crossing brings you to Ushuaia.

Atlantic Coast to Buenos Aires
Head to Patagonia's Atlantic coast where marine sanctuaries give you chances to see penguins, sea lions, elephant seals, and various sea birds, plus occasionally whales. You'll travel north through coastal towns like Puerto Madryn, which has Welsh heritage and history. After that, cross inland through the Pampas grasslands where gauchos manage large cattle herds across open land. The route ends in Buenos Aires, Argentina's capital.
