- JJohn· January 28th, 2025Overall we found the experience to be good, however the experience in Cambodia was much better than in Vietnam. The Vietnam experience was good but some aspects were not as we would have hoped. Our guide did do a good job but there were a couple of things that did disappoint us. He smoked at every break and encouraged us to join him, this was done in a jokey way but was a bit wearing when repeated several times. He also tried to get us to try meat options despite being quite clear that we did not want to eat meat, he also fell asleep a few times when we were transferring in the bus. We had not anticipated a $50 per person charge on the boat transfer from Vietnam to Cambodia. We had inquired with Tourradar that we had Cambodian e-visas but were not informed that they would not work on the river border post. Luckily we had enough cash in UK pounds at the border crossing post and were able to get the dollars we required. The lunch on the boat consisted of a packet biscuits and a banana which we didn't think was adequate for a four hour boat journey. Our Cambodia guide was excellent and our experience was everything we would hope for, he was caring, very informative, attentive and sensitive to our needs. The meals and snacks were wonderful.Show moreVietnam By Bike commented on this reviewDear John, Thank you very much for your feedback regarding your experience with us. Asked on September 9th, 2024Would it be possible to do these dates? If so, could you please provide more information on the type of bikes, terrain covered, sights along the way, support provided, meals and accommodation? Also, we would like to travel on from Banteay Srei to Bangkok, what are the options for this journey?
- Vietnam By BikeOperator•Written September 2024
The tour price includes the use of a Trek Marlin 5-2022 mountain bicycle (or a similar standard) with a helmet. If you prefer to use an e-bike, there will be an additional fee. The cycling routes will mostly be flat, traversing the Mekong Delta in Vietnam and along the Mekong River all the way to Siem Reap, Cambodia. As for the additional stage from Siem Reap to Bangkok, you can choose to extend your trip for 3 or more days, with suggested stops in Poipet and Khao Yai National Park before reaching Bangkok.
