  • Day 1

    Tel Aviv to Jerusalem

    Arrive at Ben-Gurion Airport and take the one-hour drive to Jerusalem. "Book an afternoon arrival if possible - morning traffic into Jerusalem can be heavy." Spend your evening exploring Mahane Yehuda Market, a bustling local spot filled with fresh produce and spices.

    
  • Day 2

    Masada & Dead Sea

    Head south through the Judean Desert early in the morning. Take the cable car to Masada which runs every 10 minutes from 8 AM. You'll need a hat and plenty of water since the desert sun is strong even in winter. At the Dead Sea pack water shoes to protect your feet from sharp salt crystals. Important tip: Skip shaving for 24 hours before your swim the salt water will sting.

    Bethlehem & Jericho

    Visit the Church of Nativity in Bethlehem first thing to avoid the crowds. Remember modest dress is required shoulders and knees must be covered. After lunch visit Jericho the world's oldest city. The drive takes about an hour and includes checkpoints so keep your passport ready. End your day watching the sunset at the Mount of Temptation.

    Jerusalem Old City

    Take a full day to explore Jerusalem's Old City. Start at the Mount of Olives for the view then walk to the Garden of Gethsemane. Enter through Lions' Gate to follow the Via Dolorosa. Visit the Western Wall before 10 AM to avoid crowds. Remember many sites close early on Fridays for Shabbat.

    Nazareth & Sea of Galilee

    Drive north through the Jezreel Valley in the morning. Visit the Church of Annunciation in Nazareth then explore the Sea of Galilee sites. One visitor noted: "The boat ride on the Sea of Galilee was peaceful - try to schedule it before the afternoon winds pick up." Take an evening flight to Eilat to prepare for crossing the border.

    Petra

    Start early at the border crossing (opens 8 AM) then drive 2 hours to Petra. Wear comfortable walking shoes you'll walk 5-8 miles round trip through the Siq to the Treasury and beyond. Get a local guide at the visitor center to learn the site's history. Stay overnight to see the Treasury illuminated by candlelight.

    Wadi Rum & Departure

  • Day 1

    Manama, Bahrain

    After arriving in Manama, check into your hotel and rest. Visit the Bahrain Financial Harbour area for dinner. The waterfront promenade is perfect for getting your first look at Gulf architecture and culture. Get your currency exchange done at the airport where rates are better than hotel exchange offices.

    Exploring Manama

    Visit Muharraq's historic district early before the heat kicks in. Walk through narrow pedestrian alleys lined with restored pearl merchant homes. Visit Beit Al Quran during mid-morning when it's less busy to see rare Quran manuscripts. Have lunch at the mall food court then visit Al-Fateh Mosque (women need to wear the provided abaya).     Bahrain to Doha

    Spend your morning at Manama's traditional souks when they're quiet and cool. Take your afternoon flight to Doha. Once you arrive in Qatar's capital take an evening walk along the Corniche to see city lights reflecting on the Arabian Gulf.

    Doha Discovery

    Start your day at the Museum of Islamic Art when it opens at 9 AM. You'll need about 2 hours to see the world's largest Islamic art collection. Visit the Falcon Market at Souq Waqif mid-morning to see trainers at work. After lunch at The Pearl Qatar explore Katara Cultural Village. Bring a light jacket since museums can get quite cold.

    Doha to Dubai

    Take a morning flight to Dubai. Use the afternoon to rest before seeing the Dubai Fountain show in the evening. Watch from the Apple Store terrace at Dubai Mall for great views without the crowds. Make dinner reservations at the mall in advance since wait times can be long.

    Dubai Deep Dive

    Get to the Dubai Frame when it opens at 9 AM to avoid crowds and heat. Take a water taxi across Dubai Creek to see the spice and gold souks before 1 PM when shops close for prayer. Spend the hot afternoon at Al Fahidi historical neighborhood where thick walls keep things cool. End your day with dinner at JBR Beach when temperatures are perfect.

    Dubai Departure
