Itinerary
- Day 1
Tashkent to Gidjal Village
Your driver and guide meet you at 9:00 am at the Uzbekistan Hotel parking lot in Tashkent. From there, it's a 1.5 hour drive covering 65 km to Gidjal village. Once you arrive, the trek starts ascending along the ridgeline with the Aksakata River on your left side until you reach 1400m. After lunch near where the Aksakata and Nurekata rivers meet, you'll keep walking through Aksakata valley and set up camp near the junction of the Aksakata and Kashkasuv rivers.

Aksakata Valley
Walking continues along the Aksakata River valley, where you'll see mountain springs, various tree species, barberry and dog-rose bushes all around. You'll trek upstream along the riverbed and come across a waterfall, and there's a chance you'll encounter a shepherd's summer hut where locals can share details about their way of life here. The day ends with camping overnight in the Aksakata Valley.

Aksakata Valley to Karangursay Valley
This morning you'll ascend Aksakata Valley heading toward Aksakata Pass at 2200m, then continue uphill along the ridge to 2300m before descending into the next valley. From there, you'll walk through the valley and reach High Karangur at 2700m. After crossing over, you'll enter another valley and proceed to your camping spot at Karangursay River in Karangursay Valley.

Karangursay Valley to Mingjilki Ridge
From camp, you'll head back to Mingjilki Ridge and continue north toward Great Chimgan. The route takes you to the sources of the Karaarcha River, then follows the ridge toward Takhta Pass at 2620m. Along the way, you get panoramic views of the Chirchik Valley and surrounding mountains, plus occasional glimpses of the Pulatkhan Plateau to the east. You'll camp near Takhta Pass on Mingjilki Ridge.

Great Chimgan Peak
Heading up the ridge from camp toward Great Chimgan Peak at 3309m takes about 3 hours. From the summit, you'll see the Charvak Reservoir and distant mountain ranges of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan stretching out before you. After spending time at the top for observation, you'll descend back to Takhta Pass for lunch. Later, the trail continues westward to the camping area at Kumbil Pass at 2350m.

Kumbil Pass to Tashkent
You'll descend from Kumbil Pass following the trail to Chet Kumbel Pass at 1880m, which separates the Beldersay and Nurekata valleys. Continuing downhill into Beldersay Valley, you'll head toward the ski resort where your driver is waiting. From there, it's a transfer via Charvak Reservoir back to Tashkent, finishing your trek.
