You'll arrive in Reykjavik this afternoon to board your luxury Discovery Yacht. The Captain and crew will welcome you with Champagne as you settle into your suite. Later, head to the Scenic Lounge to meet other guests and raise a toast to kick off your voyage through Iceland and Greenland.

Patreksfjoerdur
Today brings you to Patreksfjördur in the Westfjords region. You can see millions of seabirds nesting on the Látrabjarg bird cliffs or walk the beaches with their white and gold sands. Weather permitting, you'll catch sight of Dynjandi Waterfall dropping down seven tiers across 100 metres, which locals consider the jewel of this region.

Isafjordur to Ittoqqortoormiit
You'll explore Ísafjördur, the main town for the Westfjords area on Iceland's northernmost peninsula. The Old Town has colorful historic buildings set against mountains and water. Later tonight your yacht sails across the Arctic Circle to reach Ittoqqortoormiit in Greenland, so pack layers and plan on some sea time.

Ittoqqortoormiit
You're in Ittoqqortoormiit, one of Greenland's most remote towns with around 350 people. A guide will take you through key spots including the museum, church, weather station and public service building to show you traditional Inuit life and how the community survives here. You'll also get a unique passport stamp from this isolated settlement.

Scoresbysund
Your yacht sails past Scoresbysund, an enormous fjord that stretches 350 kilometres and plunges 600 metres deep. You'll navigate through massive icebergs floating in Arctic waters and calving from glaciers. Head to the Open Bridge to talk with the Discovery Team, or relax on your private verandah to take it all in.

Akureyri
You'll visit Akureyri, Iceland's second largest town with roughly 20,000 residents and located just 60 kilometres below the Arctic Circle. See the striking Akureyri Church and walk through one of the world's most northerly botanic gardens, which grows endemic Icelandic plants. Local folklore says elves and hidden people live in the town, so keep an eye out.

Grimsey
Today you're on Grímsey, a small island north of Iceland with 100 people and one million seabirds. The island straddles the Arctic Circle, making it one of few places where you can walk across it on foot. After lunch your yacht sets sail to cross the Arctic Circle again while heading toward Vopnafjördur on the eastern coast.

Vopnafjordur
You'll find Vopnafjördur, a quiet village of around 600 people on Iceland's eastern coast. The area has sprawling fjordlands winding along the water and lots of chances for hiking and birdwatching in the surrounding mountains. Many people with Icelandic heritage trace family roots here from emigration during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

You'll see what happens when nature both creates and destroys in one place. The 1973 Eldfell eruption here buried parts of town in lava and ash, creating a time capsule of that moment. Walking through, you'll see the marks of the eruption on buildings and landscape. More Atlantic puffins nest here than anywhere else on Earth. This is your last day onboard, so treat yourself to the spa or yoga studio one final time.
