The person who stands out was our driver Ikrom…one of the guides once mentioned ‘now we have to find our driver’ to which I responded ‘no, Ikrom finds us!’ Which made him stand out so much, amongst other things, we felt so looked after, he was very respectful and gallant, always on the lookout for us, on the long roadtrips we had wonderful conversations and laughter, 5+ stars to Ikrom It took us some time to get used to the typical driving in Uzbekistan, the driver we had on the daytrip to Karakalpakstan had us curling our toes at times! The 4cities were incredible to visit! So much history, so many details, so many wonderful colours and local people super kind and polite. We felt very safe during our visit and enjoyed Uzbekistan very much!Show more

Asked on September 16th, 2024Do you have photos of the guest houses, rooms and facilities? What level of difficulty are the treks, and what is the highest or average elevation? What are the recommended methods to travel from the airport to the meeting point at Bukhana, and back from Samarqand?
Responsible TravelOperator•Written September 2024The hikes range from easy to medium difficulty, with most being around 4 hours in length. The exception is the hike from Sentob to Fazilman, which covers 22 km and takes approximately 10 hours. On this day, the elevation gain is 950 meters, the highest of the tour. On most other days, you can expect an elevation gain of 350 to 500 meters. If you arrive on the start date of the tour, we can arrange a pickup for you. The meeting point is centrally located in the heart of Bukhara's Old City, which is within walking distance from most hotels. If your accommodation is in the Old City, you won't need any transportation to reach the meeting point. The tour price includes transfers from Bukhara to the villages and then on to Samarkand. Our transport will drop you off at the final destination in Samarkand.
