  1. Day 1

    Lima

    Your private driver meets you at Lima airport and takes you to your hotel. After settling in, the evening is free so you can rest up from travel or take a walk around the neighborhood if you're not too tired.

  2. Day 2

    Lima to Trujillo

    A driver picks you up from the hotel and takes you to the airport for your flight to Trujillo. Once you land, your guide is waiting to take you out to Huaca de la Luna and the nearby Temples of the Sun in the Moche countryside. Then you'll check out the Huacas de Moche Museum to learn more about what this civilization actually built and how they lived.

  3. Day 3

    Trujillo

    You'll travel north along the Pan-American Highway through Chicama Valley to reach El Brujo, an important archaeological site. There you'll walk through three ancient temples with colorful wall paintings showing Moche myths, prisoners, dancers, and fishing scenes. The museum here focuses on the Lady of Cao, a powerful Moche woman leader whose remains were found at this site.

    Trujillo

    Start your morning at the Temple of the Rainbow, a distinctive square-shaped temple from the Chimú culture. From there, you head to Chan Chan to see the Tschudi Palace with its carved walls and detailed interior layouts. Later on, you'll drive to Huanchaco, a fishing town where locals still use traditional reed boats just like their ancestors did centuries ago.

    Trujillo to Lima

    A driver comes to pick you up from your hotel and takes you to Trujillo airport for your flight back to Lima. When you arrive, you'll head to your Lima hotel to check in and get settled for the rest of the day.

  6. Day 6

    Lima to Cusco

    Early morning transfer gets you to Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. Your guide meets you with coca tea to help with the altitude adjustment. In the afternoon, you'll see Cusco's Cathedral, the Temple of the Sun, and the large Sacsayhuaman fortress. You'll also visit Qenqo with its tunnels, Puca Pucaré storage site, and Tambomachay before heading back to Cusco for the evening.

  7. Day 7

    Cusco to Sacred Valley

    Early morning you start heading into the Sacred Valley of the Incas. You'll stop at the Pisaq Market to look at local crafts and goods. After grabbing lunch in Urubamba, you explore the Ollantaytambo fortress with your guide. Then you head to your accommodation in the Sacred Valley to rest for the night.

    You catch an early morning train to Aguas Calientes and then board a bus up to Machu Picchu. Your guide takes you through this UNESCO World Heritage site, and you'll have about 2 hours to walk around and see the ancient Inca structures and the mountain views. After that, you return by train back to Cusco.

    This tour is an excellent way for someone with limited time to get the best out of Peru. Jeferson of Responsible travel, along with his local associates, are very responsive, responded to my questions very quickly. This gives me the confidence that when help is needed it will be there. That day came when I returned from Machu Picchu to Cusco. I made a mistake thinking I would get off the train at the final stop. When I realized that I texted Jeferson and his local associate, and they arranged the driver to go to the final stop to pick me up. And the driver actually arrived there BEFORE I did. They are professional and friendly.
