Itinerary
- Day 1
Arrival in Pantanal
You'll arrive at the airport and head to Poconé, where the Transpantaneira route begins. This unpaved road cuts through wildlife habitat, and you'll start spotting kaimans, capybaras, and tuiuiú right away. After checking in at your fazenda lodge, lunch comes first, then you'll have time to rest. Later in the afternoon, take a guided walk on the lodge trails to see what else is around. Dinner happens back at the pousada, and if you're interested, there's an optional night hike with flashlights to look for nocturnal animals.

Pantanal
The day starts before dawn at 5:00 a.m. with a guided walk while nature wakes up. After that, you'll head back for breakfast, then saddle up for horse riding (don't worry if you're new to it). Lunch is at the pousada, and by afternoon you're on the water taking a boat ride on Rio Novo or Rio Claro. Watch for ariyas, anta, and lots of birds during the boat excursion. Dinner wraps up the day.

Porto Jofre
Coffee at 5:00 a.m. and then a 107 km drive toward Porto Jofre at the end of the Transpantaneira route. Alligators, capybaras, and birds show up throughout the drive. You'll stop for a picnic breakfast along the way. At Porto Jofre, you'll spend 5 hours on boats exploring the Cuiabá, São Lourenço, Três Irmãos, and Piquiri rivers through untouched forest. This is jaguar country, so there's a real chance you'll see one. A riverside snack lunch happens on one of the beaches, then back to the lodge for dinner.

Pantanal
After breakfast, a guided trail walk gives you another shot at spotting wildlife. You'll head back for lunch, then the afternoon is yours to either swim in the lodge pool or just relax. Later, take another trail walk to look for monkeys, including silver nail and howler monkeys. Dinner is back at the lodge, and if you want, you can set up an optional night tour.

Departure from Pantanal
Breakfast at the pousada, then transfer to the airport for your departure. If your flight leaves later in the afternoon, an optional morning excursion is possible, with airport transfer after lunch instead. Your time in Brazil's Pantanal ends today.
