- AAchille· October 28th, 2024We customized this tour, doing a 6-day tour from Palermo to Catania and then a week in Malta, combining two tours in a private way. Both the Sicily tour and the week in Malta were wonderful. The tour guide in Sicily who took us around Palermo and to Monreal was very knowledgeable, especially in the Cathedral. The guide who took us through the Greek temples was also super interesting and personable. The driver, Francesco, who took us to the Roman house spoke very good English and took time to point out a lot of things we would have missed otherwise. All of the hotels in Sicily were nice but the one in Agrigento was really special.I am glad we skipped the wine tasting the day of Mt. Etna and Taormina because we wouldn't have been able to see much of Taomina otherwise. Sicily is so big you can't see everything in a week but I think your tour does a great job of hitting the highlights. It was great. The tour in Malta was even better. Malta is a fascinating place but what made it really great was having Charmaine as our tour guide. She did a really exceptional job of explaining and showing her country to us. She is knowledgeable, enthusiastic and fun to be with. She really took care of us. I wish she could be my guide on every trip I take. I really like staying in Sliema for two nights and then two nights in Valletta to get two different perspectives of the city. The hotel in Gozo was delightful. I am telling everyone I know to go to Malta and get Charmaine as their tour guideShow moreSoleto Travel commented on this reviewHi Achille, Thanks for your review, I'm glad you had a pleasant experience touring with us! - TPterry· October 15th, 2019Where to start. I expected the tour to have about 15 people (that’s what was advertised) there were 39 on the bus. The guide didn’t seem interested, certainly in speaking English so Sicily was disappointing. Malta very good, the guide was great but again communications were bad and on the Sunday we were left to make up the stated tour ,a ferry to Gozo our self. So to conclude, my wife and I only book small group tours and were greatly disappointed with the Sicily tour and feel very cheated not only financially but also force to travel with such a large group. We’ll certainly think twice about booking another tour with this company and there has been no follow up. - MLMarla· October 8th, 2019I signed up for and paid for ($2500) a small group tour of not more than 16 people. It was a big bus of about 30 people in sicily. Not what I paid to get. And 4 days with that guide was plenty. Also day 1 of the tour was a meal at a restaurant at 8:00 at nite. Not sure how much sight seeing I did that day (uh.... None). In Malta, Rebecca was a great guide. She was very helpful and informative, but I thought the city tour in Malta was a bit week. Drove all the way out to the coast, then back into the city, then back out to the same spot on the coast. Only saw 3 quick things all day. Didn't match up at all with the programShow moreTrip date: September 2019

Asked on March 8th, 2024I have put off booking a tour of Sicily where my grandparents were born because I want to go to historical sites, circling the island, especially Catania because I would like a side trip to Rigalbuto where my grandparents were born. It looks like this 11 day trip might go through Rigalbuto (cant tell???). Would I need to extend a trip or how does this work? Is there a free day to go there?
- Soleto TravelOperator•Written March 2024
The day trips included in the tour do not cover the Recalbuto area, which is a few kilometers outside Catania. Furthermore, on this tour, the days are rather packed, with full day trips practically always. My suggestion would be to arrive in Catania 1 or 2 days early, and then from Catania we can organize a tour to Recalbuto for you with a private vehicle and English-speaking driver.

Asked on February 6th, 2024Could you please clarify if this is a partially guided group adventure or a fully guided one? Do I have to take bus with same people or on my own?

Traveler•Written February 2024is this an independent tour (traveling on my own)? OR traveling with a small group? I am very interested in going to Sicily and Malta.
- Soleto TravelOperator•Written February 2024
This is a fully guided adventure. The peculiarity is that the first part of the tour in Sicily is in a group, while the extension to Malta is private - small group. The 2 tours included in Malta always take place with a local guide and transport included.

Traveler•Written January 2024He is 8 years old.
- Soleto TravelOperator•Written January 2024
We can take on this tour also children under 12 years old. Regarding the discount we cannot offer it, even because the group tour in Sicily, the domestic flight included from Sicily to Malta and the private trips in Malta are designed for adult travellers. The only thing I can do, is to offer a share boat trip to Comino, Blue Lagoon and Gozo instead of the full day panoramic we could offer a 100 euro discount per person.

Bryan
Traveler•Written February 2024The tour indicates that ends in Malta. Does that mean that we are on our own to return to Catania? or the tour includes returning to Catania?
- Soleto TravelOperator•Written February 2024
The tour ends in Malta and in case you have to return to Catania, the best option would be a domestic flight - there are usually 3 direct flights per days at really good prices. Alternatively there is the hydrofoil connecting Sicily and Malta, but it takes longer.
