Itinerary
- Day 1
Kathmandu to Kumpur Village
You'll leave Kathmandu early in the morning by local bus headed to Kumpur Village in Dhaking District, about a 3-hour drive. The route takes you through Himalayan foothills and green valleys with nice views along the way. After stopping for lunch in Bungchung village, you'll start hiking up to Kumpur Village, which takes around 3 hours. Once you arrive, you'll meet your host family and get settled. Later in the evening, take a walk out to a viewpoint to catch the sunset before heading back for dinner and your first night at the homestay.

Kumpur Village
Wake up to morning air in the mountains with great views around you. Head up to the hilltops early to watch the sunrise and see the mountain landscape. During the day you'll work with your host family on authentic village activities like learning to cook traditional Nepali dishes using ingredients from their land, helping with farm work such as planting or harvesting, and taking part in local customs. Walk through the surrounding forests to find waterfalls and talk with villagers about how they live. You'll eat hearty organic meals throughout the day and by evening, sit around the hearth listening to folk stories and traditional music.

Say goodbye to your host family and Kumpur Village in the morning. Drive back to Kathmandu and check into your hotel. Spend some time thinking back on what you've learned and experienced during your stay in the village.
